I have a friend who lives in Wisconsin who told me how it is really made, from the chicken (s#i!) up, but even before that I never did get a good feeling from letting somebody inject me with something manmade.

In my ignorance of youth, raising my two young daughters and ofcourse, not being let into school unless they were vaccinated for childhood diseases....I did, but now I shake my head at the whole thing.

Then having one of those daughters, the youngest, born with a severe heart defect and her cardilolgist strongly recommending her to get the flu shot yearly (as the seasonal flu is very hard on some folks), I fell for it, for a while, then I started to balk, not letting her get it, but having myself vaccinated so she would not catch anything that I might bring home, then I finally got rebellious and said, STOP THE INSANITY!

So, I go and do my processing for my new job in recent mid April...I was required to have the flu vaccine to be employed by this system...guess what? I, as I have metioned here a few places, had been sick for months, originating from allergies, turned into this infection and that infection...well I got friggin SICK from that flu vaccine. They are not supposed to make you "sick" it is a killed virus, but I feel for sure, that is what set me off for my bought of bronchitis and throat infections, that I am finally gettin free of.

I am going to have to get a physician to "write me out" of any flu vaccines in the future.

Where is my choice in the matter?

Sure the hospital doesnt want me to miss work from the flu, doesnt want to me to potentially spread it to coworkers and patients...but dont I have a right too?

I guess not?

Have we become a nation of vaccine junkies?

Goodness me, I hope not!!!

I haven't gotten a flu vaccine since I was a kid I think. I had quite a lot of colds and then a funky bronchitis/pneumonia thing happen, but I don't think that had anything to do with the "flu". I had allergies that weren't being dealt with by my immune system, still recovering from major surgery.

I also have not gotten my daughter vaccinated against the flu EVER. And you know what? She was one of the healthiest kids in her daycare this past cold/flu season. She has allergies, but that has only led to runny nose and slight cough.

I won't do it ever. EVER.
