Hi Stawr, Chamomile, valerian and lemon balm are common herbs you can find in bulk online or at a health food store. Valerian is really strong and pungent so it's hard to drink as a tea but chamomile and lemon balm are almost sweet and very tasty.According to some people in the raw food community, most of us have a magnesium deficiency and it's one of the easiest deficiencies to overcome. You can buy magnesium spray or oil and dilute it in some water for a foot soak - that is the best way to absorb it. see this thread for more links on magnesium. http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum3/HTML/002429.html IP: Logged |

You are welcome. Speaking of magnesium, here is an article by Brandon Gilbert on the subject. http://hyperionherbs.com/magnesium-oil-for-women/ IP: Logged |

Thanks for all the info Yin. I printed out some of the pics you found and put them on my fridge!I've been eating nothing but veggies and fruits for the past 2 months. Feels really good. But I did cheat a little, had me a little slice of pizza yesterday. Edit to add: This "momentary indiscretion" shall pass! ------------------ "The snake which cannot cast its skin has to die. I might try to make ice tea though. I don't like hot tea I only drink hot tea if I am not feeling good. Since I had a big slice of pizza yesterday, I was planning on having some ginger tea. But I went running last night and its summer so I really was not up for it. Think I will try making it into ice tea, so it's less of a chore. IP: Logged |

How is milk "toxic"? Does it depend too on the country/on what kind of milk you have? I don't drink dairy milk, but do drink other kinds. And milk/cheese are good sources of calcium; Greek yogurt also has a lot of protein and can go with a lot of things. As for caffeine, that has a few good things about it (as long as you don't overdo). That brings up another topic: treating oneself rarely to something less healthy vs. eating it every day or every week. IP: Logged |

Platero, find my Contents of Health and Healing thread. There are some links explaining why and how dairy is toxic there.IP: Logged |

*raises hand* cause raw milk is illegal!(in N. America I don't know about other countries.) *gets on soapbox* THEY say it's bad for you even though people from a long time ago drank raw milk. That's right God, or whatever you to call it gave us the gift of cows and milk so that WE could pasteurize it! Makes sense to me...not. I feel like it should be up to THE PEOPLE whether or not they choose to have pasteurized or raw...not the gov. What ever happened to freedom of choice? Why do we need stupid laws that dictate what we can and can't drink? Why do they need to treat us like kids and tell us what's good and bad for us? It's like your not my mom, plus I'm an adult and I'll do what I want to my body. Do we really need a law for everything that is "good" or "bad" for us? It's like marijuana being illegal, we all know that no one over doses on it, like legal prescription pills, or booze. But it's demonized by law and a portion of the media. Farmers get charged as felons over raw milk in my country. *gets off soap box*Also when I was little I had bladder control issues. I had to be taken off milk, and I was fine. I wonder if things would of been different if raw milk was legal. But as long as I'm in this country I will probably never know. But oh yes definitely check out Yin's links. IP: Logged |

Hi Stawr, Yes, I agree with you about raw milk legalization. Where I live you can buy raw milk directly from the farm. I don't have any farms close to me but once in a while I go and get some. It is the most delicious thing but like anything it should be consumed in moderation. Some people just don't tolerate milk very well. IP: Logged |
