There has long been held a link between gum dis-ease and heart dis-ease, but now they have found a link to it and pancreatic cancer. Of course, a correlation doesn't prove causality.Never brush your teeth right after a meal. The acids have made your enamel weak, and you will damage your teeth. And you thought you were doing a good thing bringing along your tooth brush at the restaurant! Wait an hour before brushing. Chew gum after a meal instead. Never chew sugar-free gum! Sorbitol and other sugar-free sweeteners feed the cavity-causing bacteria (streptococcus mutans) and cause them to multiply exponentially. They then lie in wait till you eat something and then go to work on your teeth. Sugar gum is sugar-free anyway in about a minute. Chew for 20 minutes after a meal to completely deactivate the acid. All of the above came from various sources through the years, but today came straight from my brain. Yep, I even remembered streptococcus mutans. IP: Logged |

Glycerol and sorbitol are the worst offenders.------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Rebecca Clark IP: Logged |

It's almost a conspiracy. People chew sugar-free gum to protect their teeth and end up harming them instead.------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Oooooh I have something to add about tooth/mouth health!I did a study about the effectiveness of Western fluoride mouthwashes versus oil (the Ayurvedic option) and the results were very interesting. All of my oil subjects had a sharp decline in the amount of plaque in their teeth, much more so than the fluoride group. Many other such studies out there, something we should all look into IP: Logged |

You got it wrong. Brush after an hour. Chew sugar gum right after eating, not sugar free.------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Rebecca Clark IP: Logged |

Do you mean Neem oil? Do you just wipe it on your teeth or something? Another tip: if you rinse your mouth with baking soda and water several times a day, your teeth will become very white. IP: Logged |
