Has anyone here used them?

Are they effective?

I really want to try some of these, but they are pretty expensive, and the results they promise seem too good to be true.

I used rescue remedy years ago.. i was moving a few states away with my cats. One of my cats always got car sick and i was driving.

A nurse i knew recommended rescue remedy for them. It worked i then used it myself for awhile for my panic/anxiety attacks and it helped me as also.

Thank you, glad to know it helped! I have a box of the Rescue gum in my purse but haven't needed it yet.

Some of the most magical powers are ascribed to these various remedies...they can give you inner strength, cut down your ego, make you invulnerable to petty insults...

I mean the list goes on and on!

For example, here's a tidbit from my book The Complete Floral Healer by Anne McIntyre:

quote:
Agrimony is particularly for those who appear carefree and confident; they are popular and have a good sense of humor. However, their brave face masks an inner torture or turbulence which they are careful not to inflict on others....Agrimony helps such people to acknowledge the real, sometimes darker side of themselves or others.

Sounds witchy to me.

Could something that costs $18 a bottle really do that?

I just wonder.

Flowers

The original Bach Flower Remedies is a system of 38 Flower Remedies that corrects emotional imbalances: negative emotions are replaced with positive.

I have only tried the rescue remedy.

Yes, but you don't have to buy them. If you can get the flowers (I believe pine gets used to) then you can place them in water and then set them in the sun (not all that different from making sun tea) and then preserve with alcohol (to keep mold from growing in the water), drink (extremely moderately) as needed. Those who practiced this (and taught me how to make it) also integrated spells/prayers into it (blessing the water/flower remedy).

Obviously you should get a guide to use as some flowers can be toxic. But then as the type of flower is important (or so says the paradigm) you'd need one anyway. I bet you can find all the info you need on the net or ILL the reference book from your library.

I use them, but more often I use Masters Essences (they've been renamed in recent years).

I really should remember them more often - I think I could have saved myself a lot of tears, and been more productive if I'd followed through and used them more. Sometimes I'll forget, occasionally they don't work, but when they do work, I'll notice a difference within fifteen minutes. This is with depression, anyhow. I've gone from feeling empty to feeling fine, and getting up to do the laundry - only the feeling doesn't last, and the same remedy doesn't always work.

If you are allergic to any flower/herb;
take heed.
Allergic reactions can be deadly.
Also if making your own;
make sure to use brandy or vodka or other food grade alcohol;
DO NOT EVER USE RUBBING ALCOHOL
for potions that will be ingested!
That will blind you or kill you.
Personally I have found any of the flower potions worthless or near worthless.

Thank you for clarifying! In retrospect I can see how what I said could've been misunderstood.

Thanks for the replies!

I wonder if some people, at certain times, are more sensitive than other people and at other times. Homeopathic remedies like Arnica have worked wonders on me...maybe I am constitutionally receptive to subtle energies?

I guess I will buy some and then try making them; I have lots of herbs/flowers growing on my property that correspond to the "official" flower remedies.

Hi Faith,
We've talked a lot about those before.
Here is a link to some search results from LL.

Thanks Yin!

The search engine hasn't been showing results for me, not for a while.

But I found this through my regular search engine: http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum3/HTML/000631.html

Will read it and bump if I have questions!

I have tried them before - personally, I think they are effective in a subtler fashion than traditional therapeutic remedies.

They can help balance one's emotions, which can help with one's overall health - reduce the chance and incidence of psychosomatic ailments.
