I want to start meditating because I want to heal myself and recover from the Anxiety/Panic disorder I developed several months ago. I have been reading the book called The Secret, which focuses on the power of thought and the law of attraction. So far, it has helped me a lot in re-training my mind to focus on positivity.

I believe meditation would help strengthen the healing process but I have no idea where to start. I could just sit quietly without distraction but..then what? What am I supposed to think about? Don't say "nothing" because you are always thinking of something.

So for those of you who meditate on a regular basis, how did you start out..what types of meditation are best for beginners with wired minds??

Try a guided meditation. That's what I do - unless I'm in a (rare) beautiful, relaxed mood and am feeling blissed out.

Hi Frankie,

I have done meditation for about 3 to 4 years. If you are doing the process on your own, the best approach is to learn how to really quite the mind, and focus on breathing. Are you good with visualization?
Let me know and I will post some tips so you can start slowly.

Over the next few days I will add some breathing techniques to help quite the mind and help you focus. Once you are able to quiet the mind you should be able to do some meditation.

One tip before you begin.

Ask your spiritual guide to help you find inner peace. You may say "Divine guide or guardian angel please I ask for help and guidance in finding inner peace" You can always tailor the request to your belief, but ask.

instructions might seem long because you will be by yourself guiding yourself to inner peace.

Over the next few days, try to learn how to control breathing and quite the mind.
• Find a place on your bed ( bed must be made) or those or a reclining sofa
• Make sure that you are warm, or have blanket to cover you
• Try not to eat anything at least 2 hrs before, or anything heavy 5 hrs before. If you drink black tea, soda, energy drink, coffee or any energy or stimulating try to avoid it at least 8 hrs before the process.
• Try to find a quite place if you live in an apt or with someone else you may hear headsets link below for the music I think can help.

• Once ready cover your eyes,
• Lower the volume on the you tube I sent you.
• I want you to breath deeply through the belly
• The tape is not long so try to start the breathing a little bit before the music starts just to calm the mind.

• For the breathing deep breathing through the stomach like babies do , feel the your belly rise every time you slowly an deeply breath. Concentrate on the breathing and nothing else you may say in your mind when you breath in Receive ( love) and for breathing out Release( fear )

• Breath in
• Breath out

• Breath in
• Breath Out

• Breath in
• Breath out

• Breath in
• Breath Out

• Slowly feel love energy coming through you heart ( thinking of a small baby, child or puppy when they are happy).
If possible say this to yourself this will help the body relax..
• Release all tension in your body
• Release the muscle in your feet , feel it go soft and relax.
• Release the muscles in the leg go soft and relax
• Release the air in your belly
• Release the muscles in your arm relax
• Release the tension melting away from your forehead, from your jaws, feel like your jaws are dropping
• Feel the tension in the muscle in your neck and shoulder just melting away.
• Feel your back going soft.
• If your mind wonders somewhere you may use visualization please choose side beach, ocean side, forest, something with color blue or green ( cooling effects for the mind)
• The tape is not long so try to start the breathing a little bit before the music starts just to calm the mind.
• When using the Youtube link lower the volume just so you can hear it softly like background noise.

In case you experience challenges in relaxing the body or need a different music please let me know.
Thanks

It is all in the breathing and control of the mind I normally do meditation. I still feel I need to learn a lot.

Thank you
