Put some iodine on your arm. It should take anout 24 hours to fade. If it fades in a few hours, you need to get your thyroid checked. If your thyroid is sluggish or not working properly, your body will quickly absorb the iodine.

Sounds like you are iodine deficient. Do you limit your salt intake?

Yes i do. I am worried about blood pressure, but also the salt i use, is table salt, that someone told me isn't really 'salt' (like not sea salt)....so in both ways it is limited.

can't stand neither the taste of sugar nor salt...so go figure. (but love bitter tastes like lemons and green mangoes though)

Sodium can cause a temporary rise in blood pressure, but it doesn't cause blood pressure. That's a commonly believed myth. You need more iodized salt in your diet.

I have noticed that my body will crave what it needs, as it does for iodine, potassium and magnesium etc.

Listen to your body. Eat the foods and then retake the test in a few weeks.

lol that's for patient people...i went and got some nori sheets today thinking am going to make an avocado rice roll, that i read off this forum a few days ago...then i remembered i have no rice, so ate the sheets on their own...(lol tastes fishermans boat...not that i ever tasted one)

had spaghetti with yogurt...then had yogurt

and next am going to go and source some cranberries to....

no significant results though iodine disappeared just a bit later than it did the other day. like it made a few minutes after the one hour mark!

will update 2moro lol!

I've never heard of anyone taking less than three hours. You need some iodine...badly. lol But now that you know, you can adjust your diet accordingly. Deficiencies are common in this health-conscious society where salt intake is limited. It used to be a very pervasive problem, which is why iodine was added to salt.

So got the iodized salt today...and 4got how salt tasted, or i put way too much.

anyway what is funny is that while looking for it, there were like a million (okay ten or so) 'low soduim-healthy' etc brands...there was a lot of the normal kind, and some sea salt flakes all over the place.

Then at a random corner in the lower shelves, i found this iodized salt, only two brands of it(everything else had at least 3-5 if not more brands of it), and barely as well stocked as everything else...as if they were trying to hide it or something...sigh.

will be lab ratting myself again in a week!

Working out may be the problem. You have to replenish the electolytes lost in sweat.

Fascinating Randall. I know that kelp is good, I like Nori sheets. This is what they wrap sushi in.

Why not kelp pills instead of the iodized salt?

I've heard that table salt is part glass and causes micro-abrasions on your arteries. Your body directs cholesterol to the site for damage control.
