I ask because I have a garden and love hot peppers. I will brag and say that I have 2 dollar Wal mart plants that are as big as trees. I love my pepper plants and feed them anything I can find that they would like like the leftovers from juicing. I bury it next to them However, I have found that the hottest pepper with be like a bell pepper before it reaches it's mature size. I was wondering why I could eat these hot peppers and they were not hot but that was why. When they reach maturity, they will kill you, at least the habanero I have. I wonder if the nutrition changes when they are hot like this. Any thoughts? ------------------ Passion, Lust, Desire. Check out my journal http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

I'm jealous of your pepper plants, they sound beautiful... even though I don't eat too many peppers. I just go right for the hot sauce. Anyway... quote: The number of Scoville heat units (SHU)[1] indicates the amount of capsaicin present per unit of dry mass. Capsaicin is a chemical compound that stimulates chemoreceptor nerve endings in the skin, especially the mucous membranes. The scale is named after its creator, American pharmacist Wilbur Scoville. His method, devised in 1912, is known as the Scoville Organoleptic Test.[2] The modern commonplace method for quantitative analysis uses high-performance liquid chromatography, making it possible to directly measure capsaicinoid content.

You think the nutrition changes, Randall? Well, I just got Scorpion pepper seeds. I am so excited to plant them but a little afraid because a friend said they could kill you if you have a weak heart

Today, I picked the biggest hananero I have seen yet. I was smart this time. I let it sit in my mouth and just ate half. When you swallow it too fast, your stomach feels like it will explode ------------------ Passion, Lust, Desire. Check out my journal http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/
