I recently had a lung infection that lasted about a month and another to recover from it... It's a stage of recovery and I forgot what it's called but they gave me steroids and all this crap I didn't take. I just took the steroids since my lungs were so swollen my whole torso was hurting from the expansion I feel way better now that it's been like 2 months but now I have a dry throat and I still have the chronic cough u_u Any natural remedies to get all the phlegm out faster? I've tried steam baths, honey and lime, respiratory exercises... and of course, homemade chicken soup :3 IP: Logged |

Sorry, I get bronchitis every year, if I am not careful, so I feel for ya,Research anti-inflamatory foods, and foods to decrease phlegm. For the phelgm it is going to be NO dairy, NO wheat. Drink lots of quality water to flush everything out. healing blessings! IP: Logged |

Yea...research it.There are certain foods we can avoid as to not cause inflamation withinn the body and certain foods we can add to decrease inflamation. I like dairy too, and pasta....well when I fall off my low carb way of life...pasta and tortillas here I come! But then I start to get conjested, allergies in South Texas, mostly to blame, but if I dont mind my p's and q's, with my asthma and allergies, combine pasta and dairy... YEP! Full blown bronchitis comin on. Year before last I had bronchitis for months..I coughed and coughed and coughed and finally cracked a rib in my back, pulled a tendon or two..geezzzzz And now am still trying to catch up financially cause I was out of work for so long...pretty much devestated me financially.
So, I am careful... Hope you get to feelin better! IP: Logged |

I have this really good chest rub. Wish I could get you some...Here is the original recipe I derived my version from: http://theessentialherbal.blogspot.com/2012/01/fire-ice-balm.html I infuse mugwort with olive oil for six weeks to make my base, then dissolve menthol crystals in it. Here I change mine, I also use my Cayce Camphor. Then I add the Wintergreen Essential Oil (sparingly.) I will make it differently as I can afford the essentials, like this recipe; but mine just knocks the cold right out of there. It is indispensable. IP: Logged |

I never get chest colds when I am abstaining from dairy. If I can't resist pizza during cold season, I predictably get lung issues, but if I go several days with dairy again after picking up a cold (and eat lots of fresh fruit like pineapple for the enzymes) then the cold goes away fast. Also, lomatium and lotus root are both excellent for clearing the lungs. Best wishes, virgolotus. IP: Logged |

Dairy is mucus-building. There was a great book I read about this long ago called The Mucusless Diet.IP: Logged |
