I love it. I just realized that it is pasturized. I just read that it is bad for you in large amounts--UrgghI love it because you can put tamari and hot sauce on it and make an egg salad tofu which is amazing, to me. ------------------ Want To Ask Any Question About Bible Prophecy? I had trouble with it once, and attributed it to a Protein overdose.I read someone else here had the same problem with Quinoa, and figured same. Man, I used to get a Tofu Taco Salad that was out of this world. Miss it I've never really been the same with Tofu otherwise. IP: Logged |

I generally avoid soy products due to the fact that they're said to mimic estrogen in the body. I have enough already, thanks. IP: Logged |

Here is a good summary of why I don't consume soy products if I can avoid it (it's in a lot of food, so that's not always easy). I'm not positive that this information is absolutely accurate, but there are quite a few articles from other sources that state as much. I just like to go with sites that I don't feel are biased, so I chose this one. But my father in-law's wife is vegan, so she consumes a tremendous amount of soy. So far, she hasn't experienced any adverse effects, and she's been doing it for many years. So I'm not sure, but I like to play it safe. http://wellnessmama.com/3684/is-soy-healthy/ IP: Logged |

Tofu is good, but it is not good to consume a LARGE amount in a day or over a meal. Also, I have been told not to mix tofu with spinach because they are chemically toxic together.------------------ Libra Sun Aqua Rising Cancer Moon Scorpio Venus "Love is a Universal Language" IP: Logged |

My main reasons for avoiding tofu and soy products are that I already have a lot of estrogen, and breast cancer runs in my family strongly.I also don't like to give soy products to my son, due to the estrogen mimicking factor. However, my husband had to have soy formula when he was a baby, and he doesn't have any problems in the areas they're describing. So I suppose it could be taken with a grain of salt, but anything that messes with my hormones at all really causes me to feel out of whack, so I personally avoid it. But I know plenty of people who use soy products and tofu regularly, and they seem fine. IP: Logged |
