Has anyone done this and can they review and relate their experiences?

While ayuahuasca is interesting to know about, I am more interested in healing and soul retrieval.

This video has a fascinating discussion on the medicine-plant ayahuasca! conversation, Nicole [Breitfeller] Oman (Colorado, USA) has been 'holding space' with people using this plant. She tells some of her stories in this video...

I have had two sessions with a shamanic healer/spiritual healer before... they were both very wonderful, I didn't get around to the soul retrieval part because I had no more money and events in my life worsened so that I could not afford/save for more sessions. The first one I had was for Power Animal guidance (I already had 1 power animal I am aware of from doing my own lower world meditation. I had a friend tell me once that I can't cry and get depressed every time a tree gets cut down. they don't understand that it is not a choice for me) so this was furthering that process and finding more. She found me two more guides, and 1 is a plant/tree spirit which she said is more rare to have come to one, I am deeply connected to the trees, I talk to them in my mind (when trees get cut down I can feel their and their fellow trees pain as if it is my own and it makes me cry, when some trees got cut down around the last place I lived it was very hard for me, I cried so much when they were sawing them down and fell into a hard depression due to it. The clearcuts around here break my heart) and was overjoyed at the guide she found for me, the qualities of the guides she found for me were all qualities I need especially at the time. She is also a ritual designer and during her journey for me (both times) found and gave me my own personalized rituals which were both very powerful and suited for my needs/abilities! The second session I had with her was a pattern collapse. She said the pattern had been totally collapsed and I was given two more rituals, one was an opportunity to "rebirth" myself. I question if maybe I was not ready for this ritual, I struggled with my homework for it and although she said the pattern had been very successfully collapsed I had a (traumatizing) event repeat itself immediately after the pattern collapse. Regardless is was all very powerful and if I had the money to finish the sessions with her I would have (she recommends a series of 6 session in total). I want to practice shamanism more on my own but something often holds me back, I have a hard time believing in myself. Have done a few lower world meditations and they were always very powerful although sometimes I was denied information, my guide told me to have patience once, maybe I am taking it too far now and sliding into apathy. I have a great love for the guide I discovered on my own though, the animal that came to me was not what I was expecting at all when I began the meditation! But the more I learned about it afterward I couldn't believe the synchronicity of qualities and connectedness I felt towards this guide!

I think shamanism is very powerful and healing and would like to delve further into it one day.

Thank you for the sharing so far.
deepseablues very interesting share.
how did you pick your shaman?
Was it long distance?

How long were the sessions?

Did you have guides before these sessions?

Have you had interactions with your new power animal since?

Is your tree related guide what one would call a deva?

I also feel trees deeply and feel intensely when they are harmed.

I found the shaman through one of my aunts who had had a couple of sessions with her and thought I would resonate with her. She was right

It was not long distance, it was in person, in her own home. She takes her clients to a special little magical room that she has set up that is filled with wonderful magical treasures, one of my favorites was her owl feather fan with agate handle, so beautiful, she even fanned me with it for my 2nd session, she had many crystals, a wand, feathers, nature/animals artifacts, beautiful artwork etc. She starts the sessions by talking to you, getting to know you and your life histories/traumas a bit, what your needs are, explaining her methods a bit. There is a small bed in the room too. When she is ready to begin journeying for you she gets you to lay on the bed and be relaxed, she lights incense and puts on some meditative/shamanic music, makes sure that you are relaxed. Then to prepare for her journey, she calls on/invokes her own spirit guides by doing a sort of ritual dance, complete with rattles, shamanic singing and dancing. If you are familiar with shamanism you may know that shamans offer to share their body with their guides/let their guides move through them physically, so during her dance she actually "becomes one" with her guides, and they speak through her, the animal sounds that come through her are quite realistic. One is welcome to watch her as she does this or lay with the eyes closed. After that she lays down on the bed next to you, shoulders and ankles touching. This is a specific type of meditation I have read about in books as well when one is journeying for another. As she enters non-ordinary reality it is so powerful for her that she actually physically shakes at times while she is journeying (she warns about this before hand). After she has completed the journey she gets up and writes down what she has experienced/what the guides have told her and what ritual they helped her design for you, while you keep laying there peacefully. Then when both are ready you sit with her again and she explains everything she saw and was told to give/tell you and lets you take the paper she has written out about the session but asks that you copy it out at home and bring it back for her records for your next session.

The sessions were about 2 hours long, though if they need to run over that a bit she does. There isn't a timer going or anything like that. The sessions were $160 each I believe. My aunt paid for/gifted me the first one.

I had the one guide I found myself through shamanic journeying before hand. I've been to others as well for information on my guides, I met one lady is who really psychic through my friend, my friend took me to see her, this was not for money. She told me many thing including that I have 4 guides with me at all times.

I do think that the tree guide is what one would call a deva, she said it came to her in it's spirit/fairy form though not how most people visualize fairies and it told her what tree it represented. I am supposed to call upon my tree guide for upper world journeys though I have not done an upper world journey yet, only lower world.

I have not had much contact with my new guides, as I said, a bunch of unfortunate events happened soon after this and I fell into a very dark place that I am only now starting to recover from. But I do believe the guides are still with me and if I believed in myself enough to practice these days that I could contact them.

I will share the shaman lady's website with you although unless you lived here I guess you wouldn't be able to see her. But she is a wonderful powerful woman in my eyes!

Hi Tuxedo... Nope, I never tried that 'particular' herbal-experience before.

I've been listening to the experiences others have had, and to advice. Thing I heard is that it is a powerful and strong experience ~ don't do it alone ~ you need a SAFE environment {N} It's not something you do 'just to get high' as chemical escape. Not something to be used without clear purpose and intention...

Personally I discovered in my youth that I can use music and rhythms to access states of consciousness (whether to study and concentrate, or for meditation). When I'd be able to meditate (and/or pray) at regular times each day, there was a type of 'beckoning' that came from deep within, that would ensue if I were to find myself too busy. I could 'acknowledge' this inside for a moment, then continue my work. (When that inner-call is strong, I know that I can miss something important, and that's sad to interrupt a Flow that WANTS to happen but circumstance won't allow, for whatever~ reasons.)

I know there are people who practice doing shamanic healings.... This will be a very interesting thread, Tuxedo Meow!

Wishing you Great Adventures as you venture inward through your personal sessions....

Much Love to you

Much love to you mirage29!

I had experience with psychotropics ( I hope that is the right word) and treated those times in a sacred manner.

Today I had my first shamanic healing today.

I had to choose to relax and trust which are big issues for me. Then had to explain what I felt I needed healing.

The shaman was patient and kind and I remembered to not try talk too much.

We cleansed our area and worked with the animal card deck. Then did body work.

Trying keep my mind clear to see and experience instead of having distracting inner dialogue.

So on my end some work on letting the experience happen.
I saw a lot of animals and cosmic places and other things.

I found I could trust my healer and that we saw the same things at times.

I will have a second session in a few weeks.

And some exercises to do to release some clogged up places and working on balancing between my soft side and the stronger warrior side...

I do feel lighter but there is a lot yet to be released...

We didnt get into power animals or souk retrieval yet.
the cost was eighty dollars and i was there more than an hour.

Towards the end I felt younger and sweeter if that makes sense.

A good book that is available at the library is:
Spirit Healing: Healing in the Sacred Realms

It even comes with a cd of drumming and rattling for relaxing and journeying.

Let me know if you try it.

Thank you so much for sharing your session and results, Tuxedo!

So happy that you and your healer are able to find connection. Sounds like you have a positive start...

Still a lot to release...? Ah Yes, such is the continuing story of life. Don't worry... You'll find whatever it is you're looking for in your training, then you'll be able to do it naturally for yourself.

I looked up the website by the authors of the book you mention.
http://www.sharedwisdom.com/product/spirit-medicine-healing-sacred-realms

I really liked the little drumming group I belonged to a long time ago... Such a wonderful atmosphere created.

You had experiences with those sacred substances... Any time I did that, I'd dedicate and open my heart, looking for my God-experience. But there seemed to be a point that seemed my head was just hitting a ceiling that I couldn't move beyond.

When I practiced seeking Spirit through music (and prayer), it seemed that there was much effort involved in the beginning; but after a while, I learned the 'feel' for what the wooing process entailed. It was like romance, showing up and establishing familiarity and 'connection' over time.

Like you say, gotta keep clearing and balancing and grounding too. I'll look up the other topic you suggested for videos too, to see what that's all about. I'd attended a few Sacred pipe ceremonies before. Nice to ponder...

Tuxedo, All those Healing miracles are just hunting us down! Two weeks will take you to the Holidays... Hope that it will be wonderful and special for you.

i was thinking "flu" but now am realizing I was getting detoxed from negative things in my body-WOW!
It actually works

went to a second gong ceremony meditation thing that was wonderful but about 15 people there so a little crowded but still wonderful.

I did not have the intensity of the first time and it lasted almost 1 1/2 hours and felt like a lot shorter time.

These are remarkable sessions using gongs, rain sticks, sacred Native American drumming.

I found myself at times upset with the woman next to me for some selfish reason and really worked on that.

I am getting interested in how these vibrational sessions work physiologically and how purging physiological "clumps" aid one spiritually...

Any insights?

ok, attended a solstice despacho ceremony for the first time!!
It was preceded by a drumming session and a Lakota-style Sacred Pipe Ceremony.

The Despacho Ceremony involved fresh flowers and mostly vegan food, fresh fruit, cheese, chocolate, and more!
It lasted a while but like everything i have been experiencing lately it seemed to have lasted only a short time.
Lots of relaxed laughter and camaraderie with new found friends and good light food and fruit juices and fresh flowers.
The ceremony was explained to us and we passed various food items to the leader and he placed them on a sheet of white paper along with various flowers. We blew on the items three times with intents before passing them. Later a bundle tied with red string was made and passed from one to another to be held over our hearts and a prayer or intent made. then the bundle was passed on to another.
i felt very crisp and clean after.
