I do not eat millet that I know of so I cannot comment on ingesting it. Millet has been around for at least 7000 years, not sure if it is older than wheat and corn.

I have this bean bag heating pad that goes in the microwave and it's really warm and comforting when it comes out, filled with both millet grains and lavender.
I have been sleeping with it on my shoulder or chest for a few weeks now. At first it was okay then I began to get, like, really sick from it. I would wake up with this horrible headache, nauseated stomach, general weakness, puffiness and back aches.

I drank a cup of coffee and would feel a little better but all day, didn't feel like myself at all and was disoriented and achy. Just had malaise.

So, I began to worry a little bit. What's wrong with me and what's causing it? I began thinking, what have I done different? I thought maybe it was the gas burners on the stove so I began opening the kitchen windows a bit to let in more air while cooking, although I use the lowest setting most the time. It didn't seem to matter and I still felt weird and achy all day.

After about four days of the worst symptoms, I started suspecting this warm bean bag thing I slept with. It is filled with millet and lavender and it does have a strange odor, very organic and a little like burnt popcorn, but it wasn't absolutely unbearable. Even though I love the warmth of the thing, I decided to go without sleeping with it for one night just to see if it made a difference the next day and sure enough, with that distance created, I woke up feeling like my old self again and everyday without it nearby I feel more and more like how I was before.
So, I guess the millet inside it is messing up my body's natural hormonal balance because it did feel like morning sickness.
I saw a program with a guy cooking using millet and he talked about how it is used in gluten free cooking and how much better I feel with more wheat gluten in my diet when so many people are finding they do better ditching the wheat in favor of grains like millet and I think omg my experience with millet was so weird and out-of-this-world. I can't have it near me for too long a time, at least not heated up. Don't know about room temperature or colder but why would I want it around me then?

Tell me your experiences with millet, if any?

I think that couscous is made from it, as far as I know it is a healthy food. That's the only experience I've had with it.
There's a possibility that you have an allergic reaction to it.

I've had couscous and I like it/do okay with it. I thought it was made from wheat.

It is a type of wheat, and healthy to eat.

It could be an adverse reaction to being heated with the lavender. Try just using a heating pad.
