So
should they remove their beards and mustaches?
How do you feel when you see a woman with more than mere soft girly face fuzz?

I'm not use to it. But if they are happy and embrace it. Cool.

I can`t truely offer an opinion because I`ve only ever seen one lady with long chin wiskers.

I was a child and found it quite fascinating. Rather like , wow, women can grow them too... how cool.

I think it should be left to the individual as to whether they remove it or not. Some women {I watched a documentary or two} really hate it and it gives them no end of emotional upset.

I've seen one or two and I have no feelings one way or another but I always wonder if they get much cr*p from people. But then I would think that about anyone that looks different for whatever reasons. Women with excess facial hair will frequently suffer from medical condition, I know polycystic ovaries is a big culprit for many.

I see it all the time. I think it's their choice, they should see which way they feel comfortable.

Personally I like mine a lot!
It is others who do not.
I wish it was an accepted thing, because when it is long I would put beads or glitter on it.
I like touching it when I am concentrating.
I feel naked and raw without it.
But due to societal pressures,
I generally keep it trimmed very short barely showing.
I wish I could find a close smooth shave.
And no, waxing will not work on this, because it is not soft girly fuzz but guy type wiry coarse.
At least it is very light colored now.

Yes! So far children have been soooo sweet! The young ones.
Like touching my face and saying, your lady whiskers are pretty.
So far 5 years old and younger seem to find it cool!

I'm sure Salma Hayak grew her own tash for one of the films she did.

I think there's so much emphasis on hair removal even in the places there should be lots of it.

Me and my daughters all have face fuzz but my mum had loads of dark hair on her face, she had a lot of electrolysis a few years ago. My younger sister is having problems with her facial hair and is looking into buying a laser removal kit thing.

There's tons of psychology wrapped up in hair. I went looking for info when I was researching shaving habits of the nether regions.

It's not for me. I have a weird body hair preference though. When hair sprouts where I am not comfortable having it, off it goes.

It may have something to do with the industry I have been in my entire adult life....Cosmetic. They say women's secondary sexual characteristics don't include facial hair/excess hair...so there are a lot of methods of potential removal, and emphasis on utilizing these methods.

If you'd like to keep it, good on you! A braver soul than I. I am fair though- but I swear, as one gets older, the hair grows in stupider places- and wiry! I have so far been immune, but I'm sure I'll get there.

I understand yours is because of more ambiguity. In which case- if that is how I defined myself, it is completely your own rules and it's a special thing indeed. I just read a beautiful book by Kathleen Winter, a Canadian author, about an intersexed person growing up, and what they did to preserve and find their identity.
it was a lovely and harsh read. Worth checking out....just for the detailed imagery.

Thank you for your understanding.
And for the book recommendation.
Oh for sure, this is definitely not for everyone! Because I did bear a child, broke his shoulders and collar bones giving birth to him because well genetically I am female; but do have male bone structure which no one realized until I was giving birth, and required extensive plastic surgery afterwards because to their shock, was not elastic like a normal female so simply ripped up completely to push him out. So it is more than simply bearded/mustached with me. I want to try to embrace being female but only time will tell just how much I can accept. I mean, they "fixed" me so much at birth and later with hormone induced puberty at age 8, well, I really have no choice but to accept I am mostly female. But I will never be anything near a perfect male, nor a perfect female, but female is what I must learn to live with. It would be easier if I had lovely long legs instead of my 24 inch inseam, muscular dwarf like legs, and non girl narrow hips/very broad shoulders on my 5'3" frame. OH well, must work with what we have. LOL!
I see myself as a kind of female Gimili

you look very attractive with your moustache (the dwarf needs a little more work on himself to get to your level, LEXX).

but yea, it's tricky with most people in the current society, i suppose, it's sad but true.

when i was a bit younger, i did have this period when i was rebellious to the society values, stereotypes etc... and i did some provocative things. but not like "look-at-me" sort of way, but more subtle and *mean*.

sometimes i grew out my lady moustache (which is dark already, because i'm hairy and have coarse black hair. ), and darkened it with black mascara. only when people were close to me they realised my moustache, and really stared at me... it made me angry. i dressed decently and walked around like i was confident and proud, and it confused people. although i knew it wasn't THEIR fault necessarily, and i wasn't intending to mess with their minds or make fun. i just wished that people would get used to diversity and differences by seeing "different things" more often. but of course i alone did not change the world by wearing the moustache once in a while...

i would, personally, tell you to wear your moustache proudly. maybe you are the one to start the revolution.

Well I get more that a girly tache.
Fortunately beard which goes all the way down neck, and mustache, come in blondish now, so if kept short, barely shows, and does not if shaved. Then can only feel it.

Waxing works on female hair not coarse male type hair, or guys would be waxing off facial hair too.

I have tried such, tried everything and hair still there but patches of skin ripped off
Then face is still hairy, but rashed, raw and even bleeding.
Oh well.
Very sensitive easily damaged skin.
All the advice from guys,
especially drag queens/female impersonators.....
the supreme masters of hair removal......
no luck here.

Eep, pain of waxing taken to a whole new level.

Well, as long as you like it there's really no need to remove it

Lexx, I struggle to wax anything because of my skin. I think that pic of you on the right - you actually look really nice.

The only option you'd have for removal I'd say is laser or electrolysis both of which are seriously expensive. You could get a kit for home use which may work out cheaper but the units are still costly.

I think people always have to have a problem with something - it's like they can't help but judge us on that 1 thing we can't change. But to be honest - if it's someones only "complaint" against you then you should be proud....

I think that's what annoys me the most - when it comes down to a lack of acceptance of differences.

Society is obsessed with hair removal, it reminds them of the wild self. For a woman to have facial hair is a symbol of strength and virility which are "traditionally" masculine qualities. People are gonna be subconsciously intimidated by that but then they're intimidated by a lot of things including their own shadows

Men hack at their faces to be "clean" at work and they're supposed to be able to grow beards....society is so ill. If society had it's way we'd all be looking, talking, thinking and feeling the same.

Maybe one day it'll be different, if enough of us have the strength to stand up and be counted as an individual but that's easier said than done.

Yes, my skin is ultra sensitive too.
And thank you for the compliment!

Personally I like my facial hair, but others do not. I do not want to remove it permanently. I like having it at an 1/8 of an inch or so. It makes my face look less jowly, smoothes things out.

LOL! At my weight/age, there are other complaints! Tough. I am how I am and yes, could afford to lose another 100 pounds but have lost 140 some so far and if it takes 10 more years to lose the other 100, so be it. I am tired of doing things to please others. That is what made me hate my appearance for most of my life to date and still makes me feel not attractive enough.
I just want to be me and accepted as such.

You said that well!
And how will humans ever accept alien races if they cannot accept the natural diversity of human appearance?

Oh so true! And there are more women with facial hair than will admit it. And what the hell is it with people grossed out by fellows with hair on back? Hello you fraking idiots, if a man is hairy in front he will often be hairy all over! And leg hair, mine is very faint but I hate how shaving results in sensory deprivation. Legs feel like plastic without those little hair tingles.
Sigh.
And rashes and pain just to please anyone?
Forget it.
Rashes are unattractive and hurt.

I like it when folks take the time to get to know me facial hair and all. They would see that when it is trimmed very close it is not really obvious and soft face fur is better than raspy razor burn.

I have done so and wore it curled and 3 inches long to a handfasting for two of my gay friends. Also went in public for over a year like that to see what would happen. Oddly more positive reactions last time then ever before!

Oh whenever anyone has reacted negatively, I look at them and say I am doing an informal study on the reactions folks have to bearded women. Then I say;
"Thank you so much for your opinion"

It is a scream to see their jaws drop LOL!
