Something to do with the position of earth's northern zenith points corresponding to constellation Aquarius.
Although there isn't even any agreement as to when we are in Aquarius, so it's anyone's guess if we are even there or not.

As for what it means in esoteric terms - that is also a matter of opinion.

So you have a theory?

(and welcome

...When the moon is in the Seventh House
And Jupiter aligns with Mars
Then peace will guide the planets
And love will steer the stars

This is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius.

Since this was origonally posted in GU, I surmise you are speaking of the Unity of all life forms. So,

The interconnectedness of All is an expression of the singularity embodied in the notion of God. Every fallen tear or shed blood rips the fabric of existence. In this great Unity, the pain of one is the pain of all, the salvation of one is the salvation of all. Likewise, the defilement of Nature is the defilement of all Earth.

Age of Aquarius means radical technological advancement, Marxism, being social yet detached (think social networking), secularism, valuing personal freedom over material gain. Expect to see more of these trends as time goes on. The Millenials have already expressed a preference for flexibility over salary, for instance.

Marxism... interesting take in light of "valuing personal freedom ".

Inherently contradictory sign, lol. "Fixed air," I've often contemplated the inherent contrariness of this.

If I had to field a guess I would say that it comes down to the sign's purpose - to bring humanity together. That can be done by persuasion or by force:-O

Anyone ever notice that both the 13th AND 15th amendments (both involving civil rights) were drafted during the time of Aquarius, that Abe Lincoln was an Aquarius, and that all of the Middle Eastern protests to bring down monarchy reign (Leo) began during the time of Aquarius? In fact, the Bahraini uprising is commonly called "The February 14 Revolution." The Egyptian protests began on January 25th, 2011.

San Francisco came into being officially on January 30, 1847. I can't think of a more Marxist liberal city than that LOL. They may regulate your food, but you can marry who you want to

I fully expect the entire world to become like San Francisco, not going to lie.

Btw Karl Marx was a Taurus with an Aquarius ascendant. Rosa Parks and Betty Freidan were both Aquarians, as was Alice Walker... many of America's most famous feminists and female civil rights activists were Aquarian women.

Other Aquarian events include the Telecommunications Act of 1996 (February 8th) which deregulated the internet and made it into the free-for-all it is today, and the founding of the Secular Humanist Society of New York (February 10, 1988).

I would hope you cannibalize the useful parts (if any) with marxism (or any system of ideas) and discard the rest (not people, just the idea's). Even then the things you keep wouldn't be exactly recognizable as you have to morph them to fit your scheme (gears that line up and work correctly).

"Add a piece here, yes that works. Take a piece out and replace with this, now the whole thing is moving etc etc etc."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Experiment

An experiment is a methodical trial and error procedure carried out with the goal of verifying, falsifying, or establishing the validity of a hypothesis. Experiments vary greatly in their goal and scale, but always rely on repeatable procedure and logical analysis of the results. A child may carry out basic experiments to understand the nature of gravity, while teams of scientists may take years of systematic investigation to advance the understanding of a phenomenon.

Many Marxists value personal freedom. Some who go so far as to define themselves as communists even call themselves "small-c communists" to separate themselves from authoritarian communism, and believe only in regulating economic matters and staying out of about everything else (so, for example, they're ok with gays unlike the more authoritarian Communists). Of course people like this rarely seek power (or when they do go about it with such honor and even naivete as to be doomed to fall to the dirty tricks used to defeat them) so that any Communist or even Marxist who achieves power probably shouldn't be trusted...for that matter, I'm hesitant to trust anyone who seeks power and pretty much consider it a given that they're authoritarian and probably corrupt (or worse, true believing zealots who are driven by their conscience to harm others in a holy war/inquisition) no matter their ideology.

Marxism has not only inspired Communism, but also social democracy which I wouldn't call any more authoritarian (and often less authoritarian) than countries like the United States.

Plenty of Marxists have condemned authoritarians like Stalin as contrary to true Marxism as well, including Trotsky IIRC (and despite her hopes for Russia after the revolution Emma Goldman was scathing and condemning of it once she actually experienced it, though I'm not certain she was a true Marxist given that she was an anarchist, though a very leftist anarchist).

The point being I think it's a mistake to assume Marxism is inherently hostile to individual liberty. And I don't think any ideology, not even anarchism or political nihilism, allow for complete freedom, as one always has to make compromises with society to get along (or be imprisoned, exiled, lynched, etc).

Oh by the way I was only commenting on those topics, I am not an advocate of marxism.

Sorry, I had this idea flash over me of people thinking wild things.

Anyway.
