Can the 5th house be considered the house of vacation since this house is called the house of fun and pleasure? I have always thought of a vacation as a 3rd or 9th house thing since you usually drive somewhere or go somewhere for a vacation and the 3rd house & 9th are considered houses of short and long distance traveling respectively.

A vacation with no travel involved would fit the idea of the 5th, but as soon as short-term travel is introduced you've also got a 3rd house event. As soon as longer travel (by sea, air, overnight) is involved, the 9th house.

This is a great example of how events are not 'things' that can be categorized into compartments, and that houses are not prisons of planetary action.
