I didn't know exactly how to name the thread. But i guess it'll work. What i meant - can you take a look and see if there are any aspects that are present in the synastries of your family. For example, grandpa and grandma has Neptune square Mars in their synastry, and their daughter has the exact same aspect with her husband, and consequently their grandson has Neptune conjunct Mars with his wife. Sure, it could go with Sun/Moon, Venus/Mars and other traditional marriage aspects, but what i mean this time is more like aspects that show some sort of a theme in the relationship (with higher planets and certain asteroids)

I was thinking something along the lines of family karma, so to say. It has been said that we carry not only our individual karma, but also the karma of our ancestors, of our family. Maybe it shows up in the relationships as well. IP: Logged |

Could this not also mean that we inherit certain characteristics that we try to mirror/complement with another, to replicate the energy? To give an example, my parents have a Mars square Saturn DW, so I'm used, as a child, to the energy coming from this square: hard work together and sexual fidelity. In my present synastry I replicate the square because I instinctively (or consciously) look for a partner who could bring the same energy for me, being qualities that I already cherish, following the examples of my parents. In the case of a negative aspect we didn't like in our parents - for example some Neptune aspects leading to an alcoholic couple - we might try to replicate it unconsciously because unfortunately we also inherit, at least partly, the saying: "doing the same mistakes your ancestors did, whether you like or not" Just another thought on the matter...
