What does Vertex (Vx) in synastry means?

My husband's Vir Vx (7th house) is squaring my Sag Sun (11th house), Sag Venus (11th house), Sag Mercury (11th house) & Can Jupiter (5th house).

Thank you.

There is no such thing as an aspect that "dooms" any relationship. Squares provide "spice", and act as an interest or an obstacle, and help provide depth to peoples' interactions.

In the case of the VX axis, it can ping a destined encounter or spark certain circumstances. The VX moves /very/ quickly, and can be an excellent timer in progressions and transits. In synastry, it can indicate karmic ties.

Does square Vx in synastry indicates a karmic tie that is at cross purpose. A difficult aspect with lessons to be learnt in a stressful manner?

It really would be best if you posted the synastry for us to look at. A single aspect may be overpowered or directed in a different way, depending on other contacts.

From what you stated above about his VX square your SUN-MERCURY-VENUS, this is usually activated at the beginning of a relationship or meeting. Transits may factor in, as well as progressions, or there may be a trine or other aspect which helps the flow of energy move along. Since you are already married, I wouldn't say this is any kind of a deal-breaker. Nothing like an afflicted SATURN or PLUTO or other main planet would do more effectively.

VX itself isn't really about "lessons"; it's more of a catalyst, or a hand of fate.
