Here's a topic that's not much been explored. We know about points in Shadow, when they're located within the 'shadow' of a house: the following sign, even if the cusp of that house is the one preceding.
We know this has a muffling effect. A bit like a 12H placement; its energies are being thwarted, or recycled. It's inactive. Difficulty finding expression.
I wonder: what of synastric overlays?
Have we found that, say, when someone's point falls in our house - but it's in Shadow - does it NOT express itself?
Could this, perhaps, be why some decidedly sexual overlays prove to be such duds?
Could that PLUTO 8H overlay actually be in Shadow?
Could the 5H MARS overlay be finding difficulty in expressing itself?
This seems an area for easy, and ample, research.
