This relationship is an odd one for me. We first met online and communicated for a little over a week before we met in person. Before we met face-to-face I was so excited thinking I had met my match in our emails and phone calls back and forth, but then after our first date...I was a little disappointed. Something was missing. Yet there was this draw to him I couldn't explain. About another 2 weeks and 4 successful dates later we were "exclusive."

It's been about 5 months now and I wouldn't say this is the easiest relationship I've ever had, yet it feels like the most rewarding. There is a definite magnetism between us. I would say our biggest issue still is communication (especially when he is in one of his "moods") but it is improving as we get to know each other better. This relationship seems to be one that gets better as time goes on. It was tough in the beginning.

I know we have a lot of hard aspects but I'm not quite sure how the houses and nodes and all that play into it (I'm still fairly new to astrology ). Is there anything positive about this union? He is on the OUTSIDE

Here is our chart:

To add, I've also been reading about the "Valentine" aspect among others that I don't see how I can generate with the Astrodienst synastry wheel. Is there another website I can try? Or am I just not seeing it/looking in the right area?

Hi

You can find the major love asteroids here, Valentine included. You can type their number in astro.com or check them in the Asteroid list.

Some info that may help!

His Mars squares your Mercury - his actions may grate on your nerves. He may be too flirtatious due to the Libra Mars. He could have issues making up his mind when it comes to his plan of action. Your Mercury is in Cancer, the security seeker. All of this will bother you and worry you.

His Mercury-NN conjunction is un-aspected - he may feel that you don't understand his thinking; this is a 'moody' placement because of Cancer's changing tides, so his moods may be easy to spot but the lack of aspects may make it harder for you to foretell them and prevent them.

His Sun conjunct your Mercury is a definite indicator to mental chemistry. You'll have stimulating talks, and he will support your ideas and enjoy participating in conversation with you. You may find that you two have a natural rapport and enjoy a witty banter back and forth.

His Moon is opposite your Moon - different emotional perspectives, upbringings, and security needs. His Taurus Moon may not know how to face the intense, probing depths of your Scorpio Moon. He may not always be as willing to go as deep with his own feelings which can lead to some conflict, especially because his Moon falls into your 8th. You really want to explore his emotional depths, his demons, etc. but he is not very open to this which can create tension. For you, a partner bearing his vulnerability to you is sexy and attractive.

His Saturn is in your 1st so he may be older than you or be more of an influential figure in your personal development. He'll try to structure your 'self' which you could either accept or not. His Saturn only aspects your Chiron which may point to the possibility that he helps you build your self-esteem by tackling Chironic issues.

However, the overall lack of Saturn aspects, positive or difficult, between you two could mean that you will have to fight for a lasting bond…Saturn holds a couple together like glue, especially when touching the Sun, Moon, Venus and Mars. It may feel like it is hard to tie down your partner or for you to remain in the partnership when the going really gets rough. Either of you may find it easier to call it quits than persist. It seems based off your info given that you've really tried to work at it despite the lack of Saturn aspects which is good. Just be careful to make sure that this is worth fighting for.

His Venus is in Gemini which is very flirtatious. It is opposite your Uranus which is going to lead to some romantic 'surprises' in the relationship. You'll feel Uranian sparks of electric chemistry between you two. He'll be attracted to your originality. You may have commitment issues of your own due to this placement, since your Uranus is in Sagittarius touching his Venus…because this is a very worldly placement but when touching another's Venus is can lead to commitment issues on both ends. Venus in Gemini has its own commitment issues and this aspect is a major indicator that both of you do not like it when things get stale or predictable.

His Venus squares your Jupiter which can mean that both of you enjoy indulging and spoiling each other. However, you two can sometimes go overboard together - eating and drinking too much, spending too much. This may be to overcompensate for some emotional deficits and communication issues that exist.

Thank you

A lot of that makes sense. He definitely likes to live in his own head. I have learned to be patient through his "moods" and he always returns to his "normal" self, usually pretty quickly. I can now normally predict what kind of mood he is in based on his actions and now feel confident in calling him out on it. I think he appreciates that I recognize it. I always try to remain upbeat and happy (no matter how I'm feeling) to balance out his negativity and ignore most of what he says when his crabby claws start pinching. I've learned he normally doesn't mean everything he says when he's crabby. Thankfully he has never pulled the infamous Cancer "disappearing act" they can be known for. I think he is more evolved in this way. His indecisiveness and flirtatious nature (whether intentional or not) does drive me nuts sometimes. I am still struggling with this.

He carries a lot of self-doubt and deep-rooted insecurities and anxieties and in the beginning I got the sense he was almost trying to push me away subconsciously in some of the comments he would make, almost like he was "testing me." I ignored most of those too and that has stopped for the most part. He acknowledges that he is not an easy person to deal with and I think my strength through it all has brought us closer.

This is definitely my end of Saturn coming out. I have Venus trine Saturn natally and I recognize this aspect, big time. I am usually always the more level-headed, responsible and mature one in my relationships - willing to accept my partner flaws and all. You are right though. Eventually you have to decide if it is worth it.

He seems to deeply desire the stability that comes with having a significant other and will often surprise me (in his "sentimental" moods) with comments of future planning (us taking vacations, me moving in with him eventually, even mention of having babies?!) which leaves me kind of stunned in the moment. He is also incredibly caring and affectionate which I love and his affection and feelings with me have always been quietly consistent and growing stronger as time goes on despite his moods. Like there is always this flowing undercurrent, if that makes sense.

This is ridiculously complex as you can see but the positives are what keep me going. I always chalked it up to him being a typical Cancer - slow to reveal his deck of cards and if you can survive the mood swings it is worth the wait for such a sensitive and affectionate person.

Are having a lot of aspects (good or bad) better than having only a few? In looking back on my past relationships, I had about half the amount of aspects with them as I do with my current relationship. Those all ended ultimately because I couldn't see myself marrying them - though the journey to get to that point with all of them was different. One ended badly, one ended amicably and the other was indifferent. Ironically the one that ended amicably was the only one in which Saturn touched a personal planet (His Saturn opposed my Sun).

Astrology can be pretty sobering. You almost don't want to believe it's true because I actually could see myself ending up with this one, despite the challenges.

I am glad I could be of some help with accurate insights. Every relationship of course has its ups and downs. You two have some really great things going for you but of course, there will be challenges too, as every couple faces.

For you, the big challenges will be not over expending your energy on petty matters or arguing over simple things that can be solved with better communication [I saw this in particular with your Mars-Mars square, Sun opp. Mars]. With the Neptune hard contacts I mentioned, just always try to be forthcoming and honest with your feelings, examine what you really want. That goes for him, too. Fate will play things out the way they are meant to happen. Good luck!

Since you're being so kind, do you see any aspects to our ASC/DSC's or any other aspects to either of our NN/SN's?

Let's see the composite, too. Since that shows the third-party energy you create together once the relationship has formed.

Man, I can never read these synstric bi-wheels for houses.

Does he have a natally flooded 7H, or is his LIB stellium dominating your 7H?

He has a very heavily populated 7th house - Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto. Eek! I'm not sure what that other term is referring to though sorry

Here is our composite:

I've done some research of my own and this composite appears to have some pretty grim aspects.

Is it true that Saturn in the 5th affects your ability to have children?

Are there any positive aspects?
