Okay, this isn't exactly a soulmate synastry, but at least this is an example.
The guy was sooo into me.
I was like, whatever.

Astrodienst has narrowish orbs, I must say. Like, Venus sextile Sun is actually DW if you accept 4-5 degrees for a sextile.

Also, his Vertex conj my Sun by 2 degrees.

I had another example in mind but I can't find the chart in my notes. I'll post it when I find it.

I find it hard to believe that with your Mars squaring his Venus and his Mars/ASC on your Sun you felt no physical attraction AT ALL. Are you sure? Perhaps you didn't like him as a person and there was only physical attraction from your side?

Nope. If anything, I liked him as a person more. Not in the "let's be friends forever" way, but in the "this guy is kind of nice" way. Physically--nada, nilch, zero.
Even though he is pretty attractive, objectively speaking--no ugly duckling. But not my type and nothing stirred in me.

If you are curious, here's my old synastry thread about two guys I'm attracted to. Just to see the difference. http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum35/HTML/000478.html
ETA Oh, the links to charts expired. I'll put them back up now.

Your 5th house ruler has only one aspect, a square to Sun. While usually I find squares to be tantalizing in terms of sexual attraction (to the 5th house ruler), this is usually true in terms of squares to Venus or Mars. Squares to Sun actually result in a: "Thank you. But no, thank you." (not as a rule though).

Anyway apart from that it might be that you just weren`t touched through progressions either (especially in terms of the 5th house)

His 5th house ruler on the other hand was conjunct your Mercury-Uranus, so he was probably fascinated with your way of thinking, communicating.

But more than that, Uranus rules your DESC. Now a conjunction of 5th house and 7th house ruler often happens in the sweetest synastries. However, what people sometimes forget is, that the 7th house is not a passionate one. It means that you can totally like the other person, and think they would even make a good longterm partner (I dont´quite see it in this case from your side though), but are not physically attracted at all. Hence it is always wise to have both, 5th and 7th house ruler aspected.

Also your 7th house ruler is Uranus in Scorpio in 5th house conjunct Mercury.

Ruler of your 5th house is Pluto in Libra in 4th house.
He`s simply got nothing in Libra, except for Mars, it might be too little though.

your Mars squaring his Venus is potentially a lucky aspect for sexual attraction (though not compatibility necessarily).
It probably was for him, Venus rules his DESC, so he might have perceied you as challenging but exciting and a good candidate for a relationship, despite the challenges of the square.
Mars rules your 6h house, so you probably didn´t feel quite as erotically or romantically affected.

Also his Mars conjunct your Sun is of course a very sexy aspect - for the Mars-person. Even more so it means his Mars conjuncts your ASC-ruler, so he found your appearance and personal energy quite sexy I think.

it could be however that you are not prone to your 5th house ruler or 7th house ruler then forget what I just wrote.

Anyway I believe, before looking at synastry, if someone iis not our astrological type, then the attraction made by synastry aspect might fall flat or just lead to a fling.

In your case I`d think that you will need strong Mercury-involvement, either Mercury-types or Mercury-synastry, and that includeds of course the other`s Mercury as well.
In this case his Mercury is non existent in the synastry.

In the case of the other guys, one had a Virgo Moon conjunct your Venus, square his own Mercury, which is conjunct his own Venus (so the synastry had a Venus-Mercury-mirrored natal aspect) Not sure what it means exactly, but the miroring keeps showing up.

Second one had chartruler in Virgo (either because of the Cap ASC or if Aqua-ASC, Saturn is still trad. ruler).

and of course his ASC near your DESC, though not conjunct.

Plus his Mercury conjunct your Mars exactly, and Mars is traditional 5th house ruler for you and placed in 5th house.

I second what Ceri says.

Plus, the "poisonous fruit" in this synastry (which is not a soulmate synastry, just because of this) is your unaspected Moon in your 11th house. It does receive a widish square from his Venus, but for your chart, it's not enough. Why? Your major love house is the 11th (DSC and 8th house in Aqua - when DSC and 8th cusp). He puts nothing there. Second reason: your natal Moon is very aspected with soft aspects: it makes a Grand Trine with your Jupiter/Saturn and your DSC. Which makes me think the right guy for you has a Sag Sun (perhaps Moon) opp your Moon, or Sun in early Aries or Leo.

I seem to have loved you in numberless forms...
