I have these same aspects with someone and I feel like it makes it very easy to be comfortable with eachother. The mercury-sun conjunction makes it easy to communicate with that person as if they just kind of "get" you without having to explain too much, and the sun-venus conjunction makes you feel appreciated by that person, or that you easily appreciate and enjoy their presence.

Also his sun trine your moon is also nice especially for someone with a cancer sun, it indicates that he likely feels at ease with you, something that can be hard for cancerians to be able to let their guard down.
I am a cancer sun myself and when I am around scorpio moons I have that feeling where I can rest on their shoulder, its as if it feels like they have gone through so much more emotionally and that they can relate, they don't often seem frazzled by cancerian moodiness.

Well it's pretty complicated between us, for reasons i'd rather not say on a public forum lol. The gemini/scorpio mix is a real paradox, one of those signs likes things to be lighthearted, detatched and noncommital, whereas the other likes things intense, serious and deeply loyal/committed, so it is very hard to tell what he wants sometimes, and whether I should keep my distance, be playful, or to be honest and serious. It feels like playing some sort of enigmatic puzzle game

I would recommend looking at his entire chart in-depth if you can. It might give you a better indication of how each the Sun and Moon will play out in him. I have a lot of supporting aspects to my Moon which make me a very emotive and empathetic person most of the time. I feel things very deeply - moreso than a typical Gemini. I also have a Venus trine Saturn aspect which I believe, in addition, makes me an extremely loyal person and I take relationships very seriously. Once I enter a relationship there is very little that will move me. Unless it is unbearable I am very accommodating of my partner's faults and have a very strong sense of commitment (I probably have other aspects that support this as well).

So to summarize, from an emotional standpoint, I am definitely not a typical Gemini. Gemini is actually the only Air sign in my chart. There is not a flaky, flighty or detached bone in my body. I like to have fun and can be very lighthearted in love - always teasing and being silly - but I love to love.

My advice is just to be yourself and behave how you normally would with him. Playing false to capture his heart in the beginning may come back around later on. I know Cancers can be moody (which admittedly does wear on my nerves a little bit) and very sensitive but I really appreciate that sensitivity in the Cancer man I am dating and identify with it. The moods...I know they are quick to pass so I let them slide most of the time. Maybe he will appreciate that about you as well
