I've been discussing this one with a friend and we discovered smth interesting. I'm curious whether your observations are going to confirm it.Mars opposite Venus seems to produce an intense attraction that can turn to disappointment over time when the relationship grows closer. The last bit is from several synastries with Mars opp Venus and no other soft/sweet romantic and sexual markers. It seemed as if they were attracted, but their love styles did not satisfy each other, in bed or out of it. "I want this person to love me, but I don't like the way they do it." Or "I want to love this person, but I don't like the way they respond to my affections." In one case, the girl asked me not to put her chart in public, but they have his Mars opp her Venus his Venus conj her Pluto exactly his Moon square her Venus his Sun opp her Moon his Mars opp her Moon Mars sextile Mars No other positive/soft aspects between personal planets aside from a super wide Moon-Sun sextile but it is 9 degrees (I hear ya) and the signs are not compatible. Initial intense attraction from his side especially (her Moon and Venus overlay his 5th house too), but then disappointing sex and they keep rubbing each other the wrong way. Not like, bad sex, but she doesn't like what he wants, and he isn't into what she wants, even though neither want anything kinky or special. (I wonder why Mars sextile Mars doesn't help.) He keeps critizing the way she looks and dresses, too. But there is DW Saturn square Moon so they are still together, not sure for how long.

No, I don't think so, I disagree. Mars opp Venus are an archetype of the zodiac (Libra/Aries, Taurus/Scorpio). The little they have it's probably BECAUSE of the opposition. It's the lack of something, in this case, the lack of harmonious flowing aspects between the other Venus Mars or Mars Moon or 8th rulers/planets. What's happening with the houses 2nd and 8th and the rulers? And I don't think there's such a thing as a 9 deg sextile, because after an orb of 6 you begin to approach two very important aspects, the Quintile and the Septile (in this case, almost a Quintile if not one already) ------------------
I seem to have loved you in numberless forms... IP: Logged |

i would agree, and not just from the fact that oppositions lead to attraction that peters out/disappoints in the end, but from personal experiences on this one too. i have a venus that was directly opposed to my partner's mars, and it was great... initially. we had a venus/pluto conjunct exact, so it was hot hot hot, and saturn was opposite venus so we stayed together quite a while. but, as you said, as the relationship progresses it breaks down terribly. the mars (in this example) was very weak in comparison to the venus sign and we just weren't speaking the same love language. it was as though every approach i made (as venus) was wrong, and his approach (as mars) wasn't enough to satisfy my sign. there are always other factors at play and not just one aspect, but when you have fundamental differences in love styles and pursuit you'll have some let-downs. it is like you are doing everything "right" and your partner continually sees it as "wrong"IP: Logged |

And Pluto-Venus? I've never experienced it but I heard it could cause quite a reaction.I can only use his houses because her time of birth is super fuzzy. Her planets mostly fall in his 5th, 9th and 11th house, nothing of hers falls into his 7th and 8th. An interesting bit is her Jupiter on his IC. Also, his Pluto trine her Moon. His 2nd house is in Pisces, he has Moon there. His 8th house is in Virgo, he has Saturn there. Moon Moon square her Venus Moon square her Saturn Moon square her Uranus Moon square her Neptune Neptune, ruler of 2nd Neptune opp her Moon Neptune opp her Mercury Neptune square her NN Jupiter as secondary ruler of Pisces Jupiter square her Pluto Saturn Saturn square her Moon Saturn square her Mercury Saturn trine her Jupiter Saturn trine her Neptune (widely) His Mercury, ruler of 8th no significant contacts Her Moon, Mercury and Venus are all in Gemini, and their ruler Mercury has those contacts to his planets Mercury opp Sun Mercury opp Mars (widely) Mercury square Saturn Mercury opp Neptune Mercury trine Pluto So, if we count only personal planets his Saturn trine her Jupiter his Mars sextile her Mars That's it for flowing aspects.
