1. His Pluto conjunct your vertex. There might be some obsession or possessiveness on your part.

2. Your moon in Aries, his moon in Aquarius. Aries moon are magnetically attracted to Aquarius moons. Stated in a thousand year old ancient book and the magnetic attraction has nothing to do with aspects, planetary ruler, etc. Each sign is magnetically attracted to one or two signs.

3. His Mars squares your Venus. You like his masculinity because it makes you feel more feminine.

I'd start with your AC. In this wide conjunction on your ASC, your AC/Sun midpoint - a pretty "defining", "this is me" point for any person - is conjunct his Venus-Juno midpoint. So his crush is obvious here. You might think it's sweet. It's certainly flattering.

The Venuses are very close, which is a very sweet thing, but in his H9 and your H12, I think you're both aware this doesn't have much of a chance of working. Another sweet aspect is Moon in H7 for both of you.

I also see an attractant on his side in his Chiron falling in your H12, and he has it opposite Neptune natally. He's looking at you as a sort of fantasy of emotional healing. I doubt he's aware of it.
To solidify this, just look at your own Chiron on his H7 Vertex. Telling.

His Jupiter on your Juno is also an attractant. I'd look for any asteroids or points you have in early Libra that complete his air grand trine. There's probably something there.

Signs of dealbreakers: Venus square Mars, Moons square, Neptune square Mercury. Some like the squares, they provide a challenge, and you need some of those, but I think they're the wrong theme for you and you know it. You don't take him seriously enough to allow his Mars to run rampant over your Venus, and you feel you're just not communicating clearly, like he doesn't get the signals you're sending. And, yeah, he doesn't.

By the by, he seems like a clever one, emotional development notwithstanding. Is he?

What I see as most important here though, is the Nodes and the square that cuts the Axis. Look at that axis; you have the same axis, inverted. (!!) And what cuts it? Your natal Mars-Neptune. That's the key to me here, for you.
This is, essentially, a thing that came into your life so you can make it more clear with yourself about what kind of men you want in your life. Mars-Neptune shows a tendency to go for those that are somehow wrong for you. Especially with a H12 Venus. Sometimes almost feel helpless about choosing the wrong man. You were/are drawn to men wrong for you in large part due to that opposition.
This relationship is a chance to examine that tendency, because you have a similar unconscious pattern here, but with enough jarring things that you can bring it to consciousness.
