I've just noticed this in my synastry:

His TORO is conjunct my TANTALUS, (0°50).
My TANTALUS conjunct his TORO, (4°50)

While wider than I'm used to using, the fact it's a dual conjunction with it 1° one way has me kinda paying closer attention and considering the 4°50' one.

But wait, there's more!

These conjunctions are in each other's 12H! While not quite conjunct, close to, or in the sign of, each other's KARMA: Leo and Scorpio. No antiscia, however.

But there are some intriguing dynamics.

His TANTALUS conjunct my LILITH (2°) and MOON (4°) and square his KARMA (1°) and VENUS (3°).
My TANTALUS conjunct my MOON (0°).
My TORO conjunct my ISIS (1°) and his JUNO (0°); along with his conjunct it, (1°).
Our TANTALUSES are square, (3°).

I ought to note his TANTALUS is way OOB. 59°N! Mine is tightly parallel my SUN, (7°S).

His TORO is opposite our weird TISIPHONE/HADES=CHIRON, too. (2°). That means it's square my NODES, also by 2°.

Any clues to this pattern? How they might be operating? I'm not sure if 'family curse' (TANTALUS) works in synastric context. And is TORO always intimidation?

Love some insight. Dual conjunct like this and in each other's 12H, I couldn't help but seek some understanding.

Asteroid Tantalus comes from the word tantalize. As you might imagine, Tantalus is where we want something badly but it is out of our reach and seems to remain so. The word does not suggest resolution so I would say that one would not find resolution to what which one desires . The word connotes that one will be close enough to see and touch the desire of one’s affections but not to CLAIM it. I saw this situation with a man who had Tantalus conjunct Venus. He wanted a soul mate but threw everyone away until all he had left was one night stands."

What do you think of this definition for Tantalus? Do you feel it might fit your situation?

My ex Tantalus conjuncts my Southnode by one orb.

"Wescott's keywords for TANTALUS: Teasing; temptation; times when what is wanted is just out of reach; excessive hunger or thirst; failures of gratitude; problems with giving the right thing to the right person; feeling as though one is “tested on whether they know” about aspecting or axis factors."

Very interesting asteroid Tantalus. Good find.

Ok now I can give my feedback, this is what I am thinking is your case with that DW:

If Toros strengthens a planet and you have Tantulus-Toros doubly whammy I would think you too are out of reach to each other, like a Mega Tease to one another; you think you are getting close but he or she still ends up being out of reach.

OR you don't give each other what you need leaving eachother unsatisfied and never truly happy.

If we view Toros as stubborn and link it to the sign of Taurus; I would say pride and stubbornness are keeping the two of you out of reach from one another.
