Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right site but I would like to know more about Draconic charts and how they work. Could someone explain these aspects for me please or if they are even relevant? Thanks so much In my natal my ascendant is 1 degree Libra For him (ascendant) in his draconic it is 8 degrees Libra For me in my draconic Pluto is 29 degrees Leo in the 11th house. For him in his natal it is Pluto 28 degrees Leo in his 5th house For me in my draconic Libra is 29 degrees in the 6th house For him in his natal Libra is 29 degrees in the 1st house

Here's the Draco in a nutshell. From there, you can pretty much interpret them however you normally would in the Tropical (or 'normal western' system.)Think of the Draco like a hidden script. Imagine taking two pages and laying one on top of the other. There's going to be the faint hints of something underneath. Sometimes, it won't even be the same script -- or remotely similar. Say you have a scene with a mother and daughter on top, but behind it, two combat veterans. Something remarkable in the Draconic charts are how one aspect can be entirely different between the two; say, a PLUTO-MARS square versus a PLUTO-MARS trine. Now imagine the same context. Here, the parent needs to feel in control of the situation, but the child is constantly feeling as if they're more contemporaries than anything. This would make sense if we think of it in terms of 'brothers in arms'. This is why the Draconic synastry (and chart) is the karmic story in the background; it has undercurrents running through the present. It's what's lying between the lines. This is why we can get so many dynamics in a synastry; there's the straightforward story -- and the hidden story. The Draconic can shed some wonderful light on that story behind the scenes. Hope that helps? IP: Logged |

Thanks AubyI'm seeing the draconic chart like a veil of sorts. Would the aspects that I gave give any clues or do I have to look further? Poochy IP: Logged |

That's a great way to see it. There's another layer, and it adds texture to the Tropical placements; the dimension whose roots originate in karmic history. Of the aspects you mentioned, the one which has some influence, at least by sign, is the natal ASCENDANT being 7° off of the Draconic ASCENDANT. While I'd hesitate to call it a conjunction at 7° orb, between systems, it IS relevant that there's a linkage of ASC in Libra. I'd say that he's either been a Libra ASC before, or can easily relate to portraying himself in such a fashion, as the Draconic placements hint at where we've been, and what's operating beneath the surface, recall. So there's a Libran simpatico between the two of you, stemming from your karmic history, and shared experiences. I relate greatly to a woman whose natal ASC was conjunct my drASC (or 'Draconic ASC') exactly. My Guardian Soulmate's natal MOON is also conjunct it, again, exactly. There's a karmic echo of the way I once chose to project myself, which remains familiar to me -- a persona -- which resonates with the deepest part of his emotional makeup: the personality he sees in himself (MOON) rather than the one the world most readily witnesses (ASC).
