Here is the chart of a stereotypical self-admitted "commitment-phobe": He is 32, has all his ducks in a row, and yet talks about fearing the next step - marriage, kids etc. - yet he WANTS it so badly. He oozes love, warmth and sexuality on his good days and on his bad gets so incredibly cold, distant and defensive when you try and pry into his inner world. He blames it on failed past relationships (of which there are many) and fear of opening up only for that person to leave. He also LOVES women...loooooves women, is quite the "admirer" so to speak and yet is faithful in his relationships, really only desiring that one-on-one connection. He is quite the walking contradiction! Could he ever commit to one person? IP: Logged |

Well I suppose nothing in life is ever certain. You can really only trust what someone tells you if you can't stalk them. He is consumed with work and his off-hours are accounted for (for the most part) so for him to be physically cheating is unlikely. He definitely likes to LOOK, that is for sure. IP: Logged |

You've had success with that? Huh. I'm surprised. Just never seemed to hit for me. And believe me, I have tried. Instead, I became more impressed with the more clear marriage years. IP: Logged |

I wouldn't say he's a 'commitment-phobe' as much as he has exceptionally high standards.I don't see him marrying unless they're working together, and more than likely on some major thing. He's liable to have an extremely spiritually adept but very, very secretive relationship, however, should he find the soulmate he's quietly seeking. And don't believe it. He's seeking. He's just not finding. IP: Logged |

Alma conjunct Vesta. Juno conjunct Neptune and Isis opposite Venus. I'm wondering how often commitment phobes in general have aspects like this? You wouldn't expect to find such airy-fairy placements. I'm thinking of one famous example, and it's the same kind of aspects.IP: Logged |

Yes. Its dead on. I met my twin flame on the exact day the aspect was exact and I haven't had any one that I have read for say that I was wrong. IP: Logged |

So strange. Never worked for me, or any of my clients. Which house system are you using? I flip flop between Koch and Placidus, depending. But if we're down to degrees, that may be the issue. IP: Logged |

Saturn in the 7th are generally not cheaters. They want a committed relationship with one person. Yes. Yes. I know. That's only one placement. Venus in Gemini, I'm sure contributes to his duality, back & forth thoughts on commitment. Mars in Libra, he can't decide, can see the good in bad in everyone. quote: Originally posted by Aubyanne: You've had success with that? Huh. I'm surprised. Just never seemed to hit for me. It certainly doesn't work for everyone for sure. It did for me. I have 28 degrees between sun & Venus. I don't know about "twinflame/love of my life, etc", but, I met my soon to be x husband when I was 28.

There is a glitch here, however. As Aubyanne pointed out, he has a high and very specific feminine ideal, reflected in the placements you describe. This is one of the reasons for non-committed behavior: the presence of an ideal, an image of the ideal woman. This ideal is connected to his Yod, so either there's a woman he will really meet or met, this ideal partner, or it all pours into his Gem Venus as constant "browsing" and preoccupation. His chart is very impressive in connection to that fated Yod.My guess is he is a bit addicted to female looks, beauty - this is a Libra challenge, sometimes. Personally, I consider constant drooling over people's physique a form of emotional cheating, as toxic for the partner as physical cheating. The partner always feels as if the guy has his options open, as if there's always someone equally beautiful or more beautiful, someone around the corner he would like to know touch etc The nastiest thing ever - I experienced this once and it is interesting that, no matter how confident you are, as a woman or as a man, it totally erodes you with time and undermines your self-image, even if you realize it's an illusion. I wouldn't experience this ever again. I also consider this habit connected to women consumerism and objectifying and the idealization of looks and empty form. I also consider this habit unfair to the partner and plain rude, incompatible with love and romance. I wouldn't do it before my partner unless it's on purpose (haha for jealousy or revenge) - otherwise, why would I give my partner the impression there's some other beautiful attractive men in the world since I chose him out of million others? It's the same with making a fool of myself, in my view. Do I not know what I want? My love for him is not in his looks. People who are not in love with someone in particular and are fascinated by human beauty in general should stay the hell single, at a window and watch. Leave the rest of us experience love as love should be. sorry for my angry rant, I remembered the nasty experience I had with one of those. Lucie, Saturn in 7th can also mean celibacy, IMO. ------------------

I have Saturn on DSC myself. It's more like a self-imposed celibacy until finding the right partner and being picky, wanting the real deal, rather than a lack of suitors. Saturn in 7th is hard to commit because it takes partnerships very seriously. It is also a placement for people preferring to be alone rather than in an unsuitable partnership. ------------------

My Sat is also on DSC, 4 deg (I think). That's funny, I was going to write the same thing. I agree. Except, I think dating is fun. I can tell rather quickly if there is potential or not. If not then I don't usually go past a couple of dates as I don't see the point really. Lots turn into friends, others I just delete completely. Seeing the original chart in the first post I can see the man's issue about committing. Probably because he can't really figure out who his suitable partner really is.
