I have always lived violently ,drunk hugely ,eaten too much or not at all, slept around the clock or missed two nights of sleeping,worked too hard and too long in glory or slobbed for a time in utter laziness. I've lifted,pulled,chopped,climbed,made love with joy and taken hangovers as a consequence not as a punishment..." John Steinbeck (1902-1968)
This really describes my Mars/Neptune aspects , has anyone else noticed these extremities!
Mines across the 1-7th house conj. ASC MARS + NEPTUNE ON DEC.
Have to add that I can usually visualize what I want and it will happen maybe that's cause Mars/Neptune is connected to Saturn/Sun too!

Share your experiences too !

Nice quote!

John Steinbeck didn't have a Mars/Neptune aspect, but the quote reflects his Mars/Pluto in T/sq with Uranus, and his Mars/Sun in the 8th and Pisces. Moon/Jupiter sq probably helped too. It sounds like a Mars/Pluto/8th house quote, in combination with Pisces. lol

A bit addicted to intense emotional experiences, good or bad, at least Scorpios. It makes them feel alive. 8th housers know this too lol

But I agree Mars/Neptune could give an addiction/propensity for feeling "high", floating in a dream world, which can come with alcohol, drugs, sex, music, dance etc. and all kinds of spiritual practices with a strong physical dimension: martial arts, yoga, tantra etc. Or following an impossible dream In fact, I believe all Mars/Neptune people should practice one of those or find one of those dreams

No when I was younger had many accidents from been a daredevil ( my older brother) use to provoke me into doing stuff ( like jumping off the roof into the pool) !! Broke and sprained mostly my legs/ankle /feet/arms/fingers/nose !
Now as before ( 5- 16 was the schools swimming team) used this energy in sports !

Thanks for joining in ...didn't say he had the aspect just saying it describes Mars/Neptune ( passive aggression/seduction/sexual fantasy/illusion of strength / etc....

on Pluto/mars have an awesome quote -

Let me not pray to be sheltered from dangers but to be fearless in facing them. Let me not beg for the stilling of my pain, but for the heart to conquer it. Let me not look for allies in life's battlefield but to my own strength. Let me not cave in anxious fear to be saved but to hope for patience to win my freedom .

I thought it describe this cause of the extremes , Pluto does nothing in halves - it followers through no in between like Mars/Neptune or on /off !
doubt Pluto has an off button it digs and digs - fight for survival to win at all cost.
Thanks for your input though , appreciate it !

i have mars in gem in 11h opp. neptune in sag in 5h. It's also part of a t-square with NN/Saturn in virgo in 2h.
As for relationships: yes, i've attracted violence and I myself have not been an angel...

"I have always lived violently"
-> when I was younger yes. Was beaten and i was violent
"drunk hugely"
-> when i was a teenie/early 20s
"eaten too much or not at all"
-> see above
"slept around the clock or missed two nights of sleeping"
-> yes. but I have no energy to miss 2 nights of sleeping, it's more like a couple of hours each night for weeks
"worked too hard and too long in glory or slobbed for a time in utter laziness"
-> yes
I've lifted,pulled,chopped,climbed,made love with joy and taken hangovers as a consequence not as a punishment..."
-> yes

Olgatheo, interestingly, while I don't have Mars/Neptune, I have Mars/Uranus in close opposition and can still completely relate! Broke more bones as a kid than I care to remember in various accidents, also by doing stunts like jumping off heights as a dare etc; and was even, as a girl, involved in physical fights with boys until 7th grade, until I stopped growing stronger while they did not, which kinda took all the fun out of it. Was for a time as a teen involved in heavy drinking too but gave it up at age 20 or thereabouts, but remember well enough what a nasty hangover feels like. Do you think Mars/Uranus alone is enough to explain that in the absence of Mars/Neptune? I tend to think what has contributed to that youthful recklessness in addition may have been Aries Moon opp. Pluto ("I am invincible and need a challenge NOW!"), Sun square Pluto ("I want to overcome my fears"), 8th house Sun ("Gimme a crisis, I need to transform"), and Scorpio rising ("Rules are there for other people"). I guess one needs to physically experience one's boundaries with these placements, is kind of immune to good advice, and learns most effectively from pain... and so, with hindsight, especially since I became a parent myself, I've felt extremely sorry for my poor parents who had to put up with all that behavior and its rather dramatic results. Thank god my kid is totally different...

Definitely sounds like Mars/Uranus aspect too , they usually very on edge (my boyfr. has it in opp. Plus Saturn) sense danger very quickly and they react accordingly (bolt of lightning ) ! :-) When you get mad , which takes a while cause of Saturn , you probably let it all out ??? ;-)
Yes to the Moon in Aries opp. Pluto , and Pluto sq. Sun the intensity there will activate this aspect !!!!
You must be very protective Mum too !!
How do you channel that Plutonian energy ???
Yoga/meditation/ Occult knowledge???
I am the same with my parents , lol. I was very lucky !

"The bad thought of injury, untruth, theft, incontinence, or greed, whether done, caused to be done, or approved, whether preceded by greed, anger, or infatuation, whether mild, medium, or strong, results in endless pain and error." (Patanjali, Yoga Sutra 2.34)

However, apparently I needed to experience much "pain and error" first hand (and physically) in order to understand the meaning of this sentence in the first place.
So you're quite right, Yoga/meditation/occultism has been my key for transforming destructive impulses. It took a while, and included a little trip to Hades and back What about you, what works for you?

(And yes, I'm a protective Mom at heart, but try to allow my kid to experience the consequences of her decisions even if they are negative. But whenever she needs support I'm there and I think she knows it.)

Same here , spent a decade studying all forms of occult knowledge , all religions and travelling ( Good parents ) , yoga, extreme sports
yeah Pluto does that, it drags you down to hell , you feel like dying ( something always does ) I usually notice 7 ( rings of hell) that you have to forego , like shells of former self, you change , become so strong that once you resurface nothing fazes you..!!! You also gain wealth ( Pluto means wealth in Greek) either spiritual or physical wealth
I have my placements in mutable signs so I dealt with Pluto/Uranus/Saturn already and
now use this ( experience )for counselling peep's !

love the quote ! already copy + pasted it !
