Have you noticed any themes, and does it reflect the condition of your Mercury, especially?

---

As usual I'll start with an example

When I was in college, one relatively obscure author knocked my socks off: Walter Pater. He was famous back in England in the 1800's, and tutored other authors that are more famous than him now.

Just looked at the synastry:

We both have splash charts, a Jupiter-Pluto opposition on the Libra-Aries axis in the mid degrees, and Mercury in hard aspect to Saturn. His Mercury in Virgo, mine in the 6H.

-His Leo sun conjunct my ASC (1* orb)
-His moon possibly in Gemini, conjunct my Ceres or Mars
-His Sag Saturn conjunct my Venus (3*)
-His Pisces NN-Uranus conjunct my moon (2-3*)
-His Aqua Neptune on my DSC, widely conjunct my Mercury in Aquarius
-His Aries Pluto conjunct my Jupiter (2*)
-His Libra Jupiter conjunct my Pluto (2*)

Conclusion:

I think my affinity with his writing was based on personal similarities, with special emphasis on Neptune-Uranus interplay in our synastry.

My Aquarius Mercury and Aquarius DSC enjoyed his Neptune in Aquarius, quincunx his Mercury, and his Uranus on my moon.

Furthermore, back when I was so enthralled with him, tr Neptune and Uranus were in Aquarius.

Anne Rice http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anne_Rice, mostly because of her Vampire Chronicles.

her Venus conjunct my Pluto, my Venus opposite her Pluto - perfect aspects for making me fascinated with vampires and comfortable with her rather heavy style, aren't they?

her Mars and probably Moon in my 8th
her Mars square my Sun exact
her Sun square my Uranus exact, square Neptune
her Jupiter opposite my Mercury
her Mercury conjunct my Moon
her Mercury and Venus in my 3rd
her Saturn and Uranus on my Mars
her Neptune and NN in my 1st
her Sun in the sign of my Moon
her Chiron conjunct my Jupiter
her Saturn and Neptune make earth grand trines with my Saturn, Mars and NN

You like Harry P.? I didn't read the books but I've seen all the movies and I enjoyed them. I also watched The Host. It was ok.

Wait...the latter was written by S. Meyer, oops

Nooo. My Moon is in the 2nd house. HER Moon is likely in my 8th house. Most likely the opposite sign.

Synchronistic!

Before seeing your post, I came back to discuss how odd it is that Pater and my husband have conjunct Suns, Mercuries, and Saturns. Trine NNs exact.

Walter Pater's sun conjunct Rowling's sun conjunct my husband's sun.

Walter Pater's Mercury conjunct Rowling's Mercury conjunct my husband's Mercury.

Rowling's Mars conjunct Pater's Mars; her Saturn on his NN-Uranus.
Rowling's Neptune on my husband's NN; her Venus tightly conjunct my husband's Venus.

I was gonna say, you don't seem INTENSE enough to join my 8H moon club.

Sorry!

Ugh, Cap logic is so merciless.

I guess I was thinking of your 3H Pluto. You are intense in communication. 8H moon would give you more of an insistent longing for a mate, which you do not seem to have.

Checking your synastry with your favorite writers is fun. In my case I find the synastries are very "hot". Could it be because Eros conjuncts my Mercury?

Balzac: His Venus and Mars conjunct my NN, squaring my Mars. His Sun is on my Venus, and his Saturn opposes my Moon, which squares my Sun and rules my 3rd house. His true Lilith conjuncts my Merc.

Tolstoy: His Sun/Moon/Merc stellium trines my Moon, his Juno squares my Moon and opposes my Sun, and his Venus trines my Mars. His Chiron conjuncts my Merc.

Faulkner: His Pallas Athena conjuncts my Merc, his huge Libra stellium, which includes Merc and Eros, (again, I have this conjunction natally) opposes my Jupiter, my Mars opposes his Sun and squares his Lust, his Lilith conjuncts my Venus and his NN conjuncts my Psyche.

I don't necessarily consider Faulkner to be my absolute favorite, but it becomes clear why the connection to his work is def the most personal.

Is it "interpersonal," really, when the authors are dead or socially out of reach?

Re: Faulker ~ Now that you mention it, his Mercury-Eros was really apparent, and I think it was part of my love-hate interest in his work. (I hated how cryptic The Sound and The Fury was overall but the poetry of certain fragments was riveting.)

I have Mercury widely conjunct Eros in Aquarius, almost 3 orb. So maybe that contributed to my partial enjoyment of his writing.

Lovely thread!

awwww page one...you love Faulkner and Tolstoi too

Among my many beloved, this is my synastry with perhaps my most beloved: GG Marquez, who left us this year (almost last year actually lol)

For those who know, a reminder; for those who don't, read it :

the quote of NY Times critic W.Kennedy about one of Marquez's jewels he gave to the world

One Hundred Years of Solitude is the first piece of literature since the Book of Genesis that should be required reading for the entire human race. Mr. García Márquez has done nothing less than to create in the reader a sense of all that is profound, meaningful, and meaningless in life. ”

— William Kennedy, New York Times Book Review

Note: I recommend reading the Book of Genesis mostly for "things the past generations did you should never do or allow to happen again"

The composite makes me happy too, although we never met...perhaps in another life

I seem to have loved you in numberless forms...

His Mercury/Uranus brilliant and romantic stellium uniting my Sun with My Mars, 3rd ruler

The Mystic Rectangle he makes with me

His perfect Mars for me

Merc opp Venus/Eros and the Kite activating my Moon/Neptune, his Valentine/Aphrodite there too

Moon 3rd ruler healing my Chiron in my 3rd, a connection through the power of words, hitting an arrow to my Uranus/romantic stellium

Amor/Psyche
Mars/Eros
Venus/Psyche

Neptune on my Vertex

------------------

I seem to have loved you in numberless forms...

I'll be darned--LeeLoo is older than me

I swear, if I had a dollar for every time I picked up A Hundred Years of Solitude and tried to get through it...

I'd have at least $5.

His sun is conjunct my moon so I should try harder. Maybe it's his Saturn on my Neptune that's the wet blanket

But yeah, I can see why you're a fan!

Lilith-Mars OMG
