Valentine conj/trine Sun – love/infatuation for the person?
Valentine conj/trine Moon - love of the person emotionally or as a mother figure?
Valentine conj/trine Merc - love of the words/mind of the person.
Valentine conj/trine Venus - just love or infatuation.
Valentine conj/trine Mars - love of the others energy/drive.
Valentine conj/trine Jupiter - love of the person's wisdom/humour/experience.
Valentine conj/trine Saturn - love of the person's stability/authority/abilities.
Valentine conj/trine Uranus - love of the exciting qualities of the person
Valentine conj/trine Neptune - love/attraction to a person spiritually?
Valentine conj/trine Pluto - obsessive infatuation or very deep love.

Now, I just made these up, but if any of you have experiences/interps, please do post them.

Nightingale,

I think Valentine is about romantic love (based on IQ`s research), but I hesitate to relate it to infatuation.
It depends though how we define infatuation, for me it is kind of "shallow though tantalizing attraction", but it seems that Valentine really is not shallow at all; IQ once called it "unconditional love", and personally I`d add that spice of romance-flavour to it (I am sure IQ was implying this as well).

Infatuation is more connected to CUPIDO (asteroid) or even APHRODITE and ADONIS imo.
VALENTINE seems to have too much depth to be only about infatuation. But as I said maybe infatuation means something different to you.

Another thing that I have observed or think, is that the personal planets often operate predominantly as "nouns", while the outer planets more often have "adjective" or "verb"-flavour.
(it is not exclusively split though).

For example I have noticed that Jupiter EXPANDS anything it touches, and adds an SUPPORTIVE influence. I haven`t really seen it too often operate as symbol for wisdom though. I have more often seen the ruler of 9th house or planets therein or even planets in Sagittarius being symbolic of one`s beliefsystem, philosophical views and wisdeom than Jupiter itself.
It is not totally clear-cut though, it is just that in the MAJORITY of cases with Jupiter-squares I have NOT observed a serious clash in ideology or opinion, but instead an EXAGGERATION of whatever Jupiter touchged (exaggeration being expansion driven to the extreme).

So personally I would interprete a Valentine-Jupiter-conjunction or trine as a supportive kind of romantic love, with Valentine adding the romance and Jupiter being generous and supportive.
It`s like Venus-Jupiter on "(a)steroids". and brings a lot of joy if in very tight aspect.

Valentine/mars would also bring a bit of sexual attraction into the romance. If Valentine is female and Mars is male, she would probably love and be romantically attracted to the way he expresses his sexuality, too.

Valentine/Saturn- karmic love; in negative aspects possibly a blocking of love-vibes.

Valentine/Uranus - sudden love; love at first sight

Valentine/Neptune - spiritual love, yes. A lot of compassion and empathy. Valentine would experience it in a more personal way probably; might even seem as an "ideal love", but I don´t like the harsh aspects between Valentine and Neptune. The romance factor is high, but it may not stand on realistic ground, and sometimes the love may simply dissipate due to the fact that Valentine might feel Neptune is too elusive and denying the manifestation of their love on a day-to-day-level.
neptune doesn`t want to hurt Valentine, but often cannot give them, what they need. Sometimes Neptune may be downright dishonest, though.

Valentine/Pluto: obsessive love, yes. Very deep love yes. Love that transforms.
IQ once said this about this aspect: "Valentine conjunct Pluto means obsessive and passionate love that can even cause wars. Think of Menelaus, Helen and the Trojan War" http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/009111.html

"Can anything be more powerful than Pluto conj Valentine for a transformational true love relationship" http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum24/HTML/000846.html

Right! Unconditional love, that is a very good clarification. I can see Cupido as infatuation instead, that's better. I didn't know Adonis in a woman worked similarly to Aphrodite in a man - if a man's sun conjuncted my Adonis - I would have a thing about him would I?

Fascinating, brilliant analysis. Thanks very much Ceridwen.

Can anything be more powerful than Pluto conj Valentine for a transformational true love relationship?

Both ways do you think then? I had previously though Valentine aspects went mostly one-way (for the deep love part, rather than general soft touch), but it might have a more mixed up effect than that afterall. If someone’s Valentine was conjunct anothers Venus, it might mean both love the other.

quote:
The fact that Her Persephone also trines his Valentine is a very powerful indicator o true love. Her individual Yin-Yang Pluto-Persephone nature is totally in love with him.

Well I would never have suspected Persephone linked to Valentine as true love. I will be checking that from now on. However, I wonder why it is Persephone who is devoted to Valentine and not the other way around.

This sounds interesting, could you expand on it a bit for me?

Thanks Ceridwen - great reply.

So there is this guy...!
And his Valentine opposes my Sun...So that means it conjuncts my earth...(as if that matters! lol) (his Juno is there too. boo!)

But my Valentine conjuncts his Pluto. And trines his Chiron.

Though he looks good, I feel like it is more than that, like we really connect, and genuinely enjoy each others company. You know how some guys are hot but have no personality. Well he looks good and has a personality. Whatever is meant to be I am thankful, and in no rush. (though it did have a jealousy episode Wednesday night...but I'm over it...and just enjoying it for what it is right now.)

We message each other essays on fb! (haven't met him in person yet..but we have the some of the same friends.)

"I didn't know Adonis in a woman worked similarly to Aphrodite in a man"
Kim Falconer has this interpretation on Adonis, and I have found it confirmed at least in my own synastries.

"spellbound love, sexual magnetism" http://www.falconastrology.com/astro_compatibility.htm

" - if a man's sun conjuncted my Adonis - I would have a thing about him would I? "
Yes, he might embody some ideal or at least would seem very attractive to you, seductive even.

"Both ways do you think then? I had previously though Valentine aspects went mostly one-way (for the deep love part, rather than general soft touch), "
Not necessarily. But Pluto will always react Plutonic and Valentine will react Valentine-like.
In a nutshell though I think that you are right and Valentine might experience it as stronger, at least in the "love"-department.

"If someone’s Valentine was conjunct anothers Venus, it might mean both love the other."
Yes, maybe Valentine might feel a bit deeper, cause Venus is actually more about sensual pleasure than love. Well, she is of course romantic as well, but usually is more about pleasure, romantic attraction than deeply felt emotional love (unless Venus is in Cancer or conjunct Moon of course.)

If Venus is the woman, the guy in question might be very much in love with the way she expresses her feminity.

"Well I would never have suspected Persephone linked to Valentine as true love. I will be checking that from now on. However, I wonder why it is Persephone who is devoted to Valentine and not the other way around."
I`d think it is a mutual thing.
But here in this case, the woman`s Pluto AND Persephone are being activated, and Pluto and Persephone are a soulmate couple.
She might feel the "fatedness" of this aspect more and also the powers of transformation, whereas he might simply loving her for exactly that ability to transform herself and develop deep feelings.

As a matter of fact his loving approach to her (Valentine) has helped her heal many wounds of the past, and going into the underworld of all these nasty memories, she has been sort of "reborn" and transformed herself and became "whole". It was the way he loved her without questions, without doubts, patiently and seemingly without any kind of demands, (which she had never experienced before), that made this transformation possible for her.
He on the other hand loved to watch and be part of her transforming into a happy and strong woman, who finally started believing that she is deserving to be loved passionately and loyally and caringly.
(Needless to say that she had been through REALLY nasty abusive relationships,s tarting with her origninal family before).

"This sounds interesting, could you expand on it a bit for me?"

Maybe later. I can`t really focus right now, as i am getting a bit of a headache.

Have Valentine conjunction Valentine at almost 0 degrees with my husband, and we consider eachother the love of our lives. It makes you go through just about anything just to be with them, its a powerful contact indeed. Hes the only man that has shown me actual love

Could someone say what Valentine (which is conjunct my MC) conjunct Chiron (3 degrees) in Synastry would indicate?

My Valentine is opposite his Uranus and his Valentine trines my Saturn. Would an opposition work like a conjunction in synastry? If so this indicates instant love (Uranus) and a karmic connection (Saturn ) according to the earlier posts in this thread.

Ive had some questions around valentine also...esp ever since i saw how important iQ says it is!
What about a both their valentines squaring their opposition between her pluto/his chiron...a t-square?

I have my valentine cap@9.50...his is cap@10.20
my Ic is cap@7.56...his Ac cap@14

We have alot of great aspects around this conjunction, but never seem to be able to get together...always a huge barrier and fear?
Good aspects-
His saturn is taurus@11,Ic taurus@9.10, NN pisces@10.56
My eros is cap@9, my juno is virgo@12, my isis is taurus@14, my osiris is pisces@10.52

His isis and osiris also hit me in very personal places...
His isis/uranus are libra@5...my karma libra@5
His osiris libra@25, his karma aries@25....my chiron aries@24.24
We have each a soul asteroid on the others vertex.
His psyche aries@20...my vertex aries@21(my venus libra@19, his eros cap@20...ouch)
His vertex leo@21...my alma(soul) leo@21
(oh wow, i never realized my NN scorp@21, his Mercury taurus@21..ouch again!)

Could the opposition between pluto and chiron on my Ac/Dc angle be enough to block all the positive aspects?

My Ic cap@7.56, Valentines cap@9
His kaali aries@5.44/chiron aries@7.56/alma aries@9.50
My karma libra@5.49/AC libra@7.04/pluto libra@11
To add..his Rudra is cancer@5.10(dont know how this would affect it?)

We have another kind of bad t-square to!

My kaali scorp@2.15/uranus scorp@4.44 also opposes his sun taurus@3.36 and my leo saturn@2.50 and his DNA leo@1.22 squares both....im sure that doesnt help!

Bumping!

Thanks so much for this thread, especially Ceri for the great reply. I'm trying to study our asteroid synastry and these stood out when going through our Valentine aspects (Only included a few other asteroids so far):

My VENUS/CHIRON conj His VALENTINE (1 degree for Venus-Valentine; Chiron-Valentine Exact)

My SATURN opp His VALENTINE (1 degree)

My VESTA sextile His VALENTINE (2 degree)

My OSIRIS quincunx His VALENTINE (1 degree)

My VALENTINE/ANTEROS conj His PLUTO (exact/1 degree)

My VALENTINE/ANTEROS square His SUN (1 degree/exact)

My VALENTINE/ANTEROS sextile His NEPTUNE (his chart ruler), VESTA & BML (1 degree/exact)

My VALENTINE/ANTEROS quincunx His MARS & PHOLUS (2 degrees/1 degree & 2 degrees/3 degrees)

My VALENTINE/ANTEROS square His PALLAS ATHENE (2 degrees/3 degrees)

-----------

These ones are pretty wide but I think some effects can still be felt:

My VALENTINE/ANTEROS trine His MOON (3 degrees/4 degrees)

My VALENTINE/ANTEROS trine His NORTH NODE (5 degrees/6 degrees)

My VALENTINE/ANTEROS trine His JUNO (3 degrees/4 degrees)

My VALENTINE/ANTEROS trine His UNION (4 degrees/5 degrees)

My VALENTINE/ANTEROS squares His MERCURY (7H ruler; 4 degrees/3 degrees)

My VALENTINE/ANTEROS trines His CHIRON (6 degrees/5 degrees)

My UNION square His VALENTINE (5 degrees)

My PLUTO trine His VALENTINE (6 degrees)

My MC/IC axis trines/sextiles His VALENTINE (4 degrees)

My JUPITER/PALLAS ATHENE conj His VALENTINE (6 degrees/5 degrees)

I would suspect there are plenty more Twinflame/Soulmate aspects, but I'm gonna take it little by little and take notes along the way.

iQ, in fact, suggests that only exact (0 to 1 degree) orbs should be taken into account. Afterall asteroids are really tiny relative to planets.

From Personal Experience:

Valentine opp Sun/Jupiter: I care deeply for you despite our differences. Supportive of my personal endeavors

Valentine conj Saturn= karmic, I feel as if we have crossed paths before whether good or bad I can't let go.

Valentine opp Chiron= feelings run deeper that whats revealed on the surface.

Valentine/Proserpina conjunct Pluto= trans-formative love, you awaken something in me.

Valentine conjunct SN= I feel as if we have a shared past and I am completely comfortable around you.

Valentine Quintile Valentine: Your my muse

edit.
I agree with Astro Keen in regards to orb values. However if there is a parallel/contra-parallel with the wide orb conjunction/opposition/square or a double whammy

A guess - that for you, love and sexual attraction are intertwined. You are only attracted to those you can love wholly and completely. Does that ring true?
