Yes, though in a first step I always hunt down the conjunctions
But I suppose the oppositions and squares could work as well, for two reasons:
1) the 4th harmonic seems to be particularly attention-seeking anyway
2) - this is specific for composites
since the composite planets are really the midpoint between two planets, any natal planet in conjunction with a composite planet would be on the near midpoint of both natal planets.
For example:
A has Sun on 10 Aries
B has Sun on 10 Gemini
composite has Sun on 10 Taurus
Now let`s say B has Venus on 10 Taurus,
So B`s Venus would fall onto the near midpoint of A and B`s Sun or put differently onto their composite Sun.
If now Moon of A Was falling onto 10 SCorpio, it would technically oppose the composite Sun. However since we always really have TWO midpoints (in a circle), it means, too, that 10 Scorpio would be on the FAR midpoint of A and B`s Sun-positions.
That is why I also mentioned the opposition.
The square however now represents the midpoint of the midpoint-axis itself.
So the midpoint axis in this example would be 10 Taurus - 10 Scorpio.
So any planet on 10 Aquarius or 10 Leo would be on the midpoint of this axis itself.
Well at least that is why I take the 4th harmonic aspects into account when checking for aspects between composite and natal.
Also I tend to keep the orb pretty tight.
I STRONGLY pay attention if it is under 1 degree
If between 1 and 2 degrees I still find it very valid.
Between 2 and 3 degrees, I note it, but am aware that it might not feel that overwhelmingly strong.
After 3 degrees I usually make the cut, for real.
UNLESS I see that a natal 4th harmonic aspects locks onto a composite 4th harmonic aspect, and at least one of these is under 2 degrees, then I might even consider a 4 degree conjunction, as it is drawn in.
I also think things get really interesting if a synastric aspects docks onto a composite aspect.
I remember such a thing in the chart with a celebrity.
composite Moon 11 Pisces
composite Uranus 9 Scorpio
my natal Jupiter 11 Pisces
his natal Venus 9 Scorpio
Int his case it was a trine overlay, but nevertheless, it seemed very easy to like his screen and on stage persona, there was somethin about him that made me feel good about myself (my natal Jupiter being triggered).
Funny enough I even bumped into him once. lol But I wasn`t in the mood to do the "fan-thing", no matter how big and blue (well turquoise) his eyes are.
In fact in the first moment it did not even register with me (his identity that is), I was just wondering why this guy was staring at me like he expected me to do something? Say somthing?
(well he probably expected me to scream and sigh like the other present female members of the public did, a little later that evening. lol)
