Hi,

Is anyone familiar with this aspect? I have this in a serious romantic relationship. We have a lot of problems, but what we fight about the most is money. I have made it clear to him that I find the way he handles money issues in our relationship distasteful and a major turn-off. We have had a few business ideas, but they never took off because he is not progressive and innovative enough. He moves too slowly. By the time he decides one of my ideas is good (after long debates) I have had 4 more big ideas. He is not willing to take risks, and he needs to have a lot of control even though I have the experience, the education, and the money. He is a PhD student, so basically he is broke. I met him in the middle of his studies. If I had allowed it he would have depended on me financially. I don't care how much more I make than he does, my ideas about men and women and money are pretty traditional (call it backward if you want).

He says he has made some huge mistakes and is trying to change, but I can't get past it. It's as if in order for me to forgive him he'll need to become a millionaire and buy my love. And today he said, "I know I have to buy your love"

The thing is he doesn't seem hurt by my mentality. He just seems hurt or stressed or something that he doesn't actually have the means to "buy my love"

He tells me he is inheriting money. It's not the truth. He just says it to lighten the mood, and because he knows I like it...we are both crazy.

I know for some of you reading this, who are in deeply emotionally and spiritually satisfying relationships, or are looking for one, this post has to be disturbing. Of course what I have described is not the "truth" of who we are together. We have some great things going on between us. this just seems to be the sore point and when things aren't going well we fight and the fight inevitably becomes about money. we never solve the problem, but the patch job involves money. I am materialistic, but even this is over the top for me.

I know this is terrible. This is the kind of stuff you don't share in public, but hey!

I would think an aspect like this would play out differently, but I couldn't find much online.

Your input and ideas would be greatly appreciated.

He has Sun in Cap, Moon/Venus/Mars in Aqua, Cancer Asc., and Taurus MC

I have Sun/Venus in Cancer, Moon in Taurus, Mars in Gemini, Leo Asc., and Taurus MC

feel free to start your reply with, "crazy"

Taurus mc conj. mc

I wish I could change the subject. There're a lot of unnecessary words.

Crazy. LOL.

Honestly, there is more going on than just your MC conjunction.

I'd start with your natal first, then his. You are materialistic and he isn't.... Can you both come to a compromise or not?

I don't know what he is studying but most ph'ds aren't really that money focused. Maybe you need to work alone (or with someone else). Take your ideas and run with them yourself and let him focus on academia or whatever else he wants to focus on. Why do you need to work together?

LoL! Well, atleast you are honest and can have a sense of humor about it.

It might help if you post your natals along with a synastry/composite. What is Saturn doing in your natals and in synastry? What's the 2nd and 8th house (and their rulers) look like? That will probably give you some more clues...

Good Luck.

LOL LucieLemonade

You're absolutely right. He is studying theology. I think the whole idea about working together came from his conservative nature. He is very concerned about how I spend my time, and who I spend my time with- even in a work environment. Although I love work and business, I can just as easily stay home and be a homemaker. That is what he was hoping for. Realistically speaking that can't happen. He is a theology student, and I am expensive. I have children and property...I thought if we could start a business together that would solve the problem...but really last spring I realized just what you said. I don't think I can work with him.

MorpHnStorM I am glad you could see the humor in it too. As sad as it is, it is also funny. He and I laugh and cry. I'll put up my natal. Maybe you can pinpoint the gold-digger aspect in it

I'll have to get his permission to post his and our synastry
