I think the declinations are somewhat important, as an additional dimension, but less so than geocentric longitudes. Having said that, I regard them as more significant when an aspect involving the same planets exists in geo and in the declinations. For example, a Venus-Mars conjunction in geo also appears either as a Venus-Mars parallel or contra-parallel in the declinations.

I use Magi orbs: 1.2 degrees.
