Some of the greatest discoveries truly are accidental.

We all collect things; among my guiltiest pleasure is the acquisition of asteroids. I've got a Note on my phone titled 'Skyrocks' that gets added to with fairly regular frequency, and has slowly grown over the years. Part intuition, part scientific curiosity, I'm always plugging them into Astrodienst's handy interface, seeing what sticks, and keeping the orbs super-tight.

It's taken many such little explorations, but I've come to be charmed by how well such 'space dust' can, not only prove bizarrely descriptive of the details, but even aid in some decision-making (which I can get into later).

When working with a limited set of charts, 'pet synastries' (and composites), so to speak, you memorise certain placements, and can easily extrapolate and expand from there. It's really a lot of fun! Just keep yourself to certain standards (tight orbs is a good one) and if something doesn't hit right off the bat -- chuck it. Either it's not applying in the way you're currently perceiving, or it's just not going to. Some things certainly do prove the piece of a larger pattern later, but not usually after many, many such trial-and-error sessions.

Today was such a session for me.

Into the composite of my Guardian / costar / boyfriend (spiritual, professional, personal -- in that order, heh) and myself, went ...

KLIO (84), because we've already been regularly working with ALICE (291) and MADHATTER (6735) for the obvious reasons, and most recently SAPPHO (80) -- again, for the obvious reasons. But KLIO's a good one for any professional relationships that are looking to find their 'claim to fame'. Not to mention personal ones seeking greater clarity into the purpose of their relationship, or a larger destiny? But then you'd want DESTINN (6583) for that one, honestly.

Now KLIO is interesting. It's a point in and of itself rather than a greater descriptor. We can study it with the same fervour we would EROS when we want to see what revs the engines and ignites the flame. Or, more in line, VESTA, in regards to where we're devoted and dedicated, and how, why, and to what.

So rather than 'did it hit?' it's more of 'what can it tell me?'

In our case, it's about 3º from the PSYCHE/MADHATTER that's at the top of the chart, also 3º from the MC (which SAPPHO is 1º conjunct). It IS parallel the MC, too, and bringing in MADHATTER/PSYCHE energy, even if that's hardly an orb I'd consider for a 'hit'. Nonetheless, taking the four together: SAPPHO, MADHATTER/PSYCHE, and the MC, we can see how it forms a picture with KLIO.

So, is our 'claim to fame' wrapped up with themes having to do with the soulful longing for true love, madness / insanity, opting to do the crazy thing that goes against the grain, and expressing themes of love and sex, even inappropriate or taboo relationships through creativity and art -- in some professional capacity that impacts a public image?

Yeah, I'd buy that.

Feeling that's a hit, I decided to get bold.

TARANTINO (8798)

I respect Quentin as an artist and appreciate what he's contributed to my genre, transgressive fiction. As Chuck Palahniuk doesn't appear to have a 'roid named for him, we'll go with TARANTINO for a good representation of the genre; controversial, pushing the envelope, sweeping cinematography, killer dialogue, and bold artistic themes with transgressive characters.

So, 3º is, again, not what I'd consider a smash hit by any means, but it's close enough to KLIO, and parallel everything else -- SAPPHO, the MC, PSYCHE/MADHATTER, and KLIO -- to where we can clearly add 'transgressive' and the above themes into the 'picture' aforementioned.

And so, for good measure, I went for broke with a new-old favourite.

JODIEFOSTER (17744)

Bullseye, jackpot!

JODIE's 0º conjunct PSYCHE/MADHATTER, and also parallel everything. She fits right into the bunch like it was made for her.

And, indeed, as the project's initial development sprung from Alice themes (specifically Mad Hatter themes) meeting Thomas Harris' world of The Silence of the Lambs, seeing JODIEFOSTER with MADHATTER/PSYCHE is almost eerie in its bang-on detail.

And, as usual, that's just one pattern of many.

How much have skyrocks helped you fill in the details of your composite?

In closing, the means by which I find it useful, is how much of a not-so-quiet endorsement it all is, seated next to, and describing KLIO's placement.

In TV, there are specific rules to follow -- a convention, if you will, and you're constantly warned not to stray too far from it, and to avoid doing so, if at all possible.

This relationship alone is taboo-breaking and controversial. The project in which we're involved carries those themes in its DNA (oooh, there's another one to plug in ... ) but to go against the convention ... ?

And there's TARANTINO, an artist known for crossing genre and playing with media in a way that others wouldn't dare. He's a big reason why the American market has gone in the bold directions it's done over time. And he continues to push the envelope, and ask 'why CAN'T you do that?' only to be typically met with a lazy 'because it ISN'T done,' excuse of a response.

TARANTINO/KLIO-JODIEFOSTER/MADHATTER/PSYCHE at the MC was all I needed to see to know I'm on the right track, and to keep moving forward. One bold step at a time.

What does your 'collection' tell you about your own composite? How did you get there?

Enquiring minds want to know.

And if you have Klio square MC-IC? No easy mark or a little bit at both ends or what?

3.49 Virgo conj 2.26 Karma
MC 4.09 Gem

Is there history to clear, both at home and in public? It's fated or your karma to make a mark or something historical, via a kinky twist or something? Can't make it whatever you try, what?
