I have a potential romance and my ruler of 7th (jupiter) and his ruler of 7th (venus) are opposing in the synastry. any comments?

It's great to have any aspect between DSC rulers, it is an important addition to the overall synastric connections pointing towards a romantic/marital synastry; and this is a pretty strong synastry.
