Grand trine doesn't mean soulmate.
You'd be better off looking at synastry to find out if you two are soulmate.

Well you have some synastry.

His Chiron on your Asc. He will bring you pain.

I think your moon on his Dsc is nice though.
He looks as you as caring type.
