...to have a good *intimate* relationship with someone without a classic Venus-Mars aspect?

The question sounded a bit silly in my head, but relevant at the same time!

Please, share your thoughts!

I think it's possible. Astrology cannot interfere with free will. It can show trends and possibly patterns in our lives, but it cannot control whether a relationship is intimate or not. That is our decision entirely.

I hope so.

Having a Venus-Mars contact doesn't

guarantee you will, either, imo.

Yes it's completely possible!

There are many other sexual attraction aspects.
Pluto to name a whole planet.
Moon/mars is raw sexual attraction.
Mars to ASC.
Probably h5 overlays can add sexual attraction.

I don't have Venus/mars with fishy. I'm highly sexually attracted to him. More so than any other man ever!

Venus/mars is mostly just a first attraction. Once it fades a little later. the attraction ends. Unless there are other aspects going on.
Venus/mars does not hold people together. I personally prefer other sexual attraction aspects.
But that's just me

Venus/Uranus aspects, Pluto contacts and 8th house overlays are also very nice.

I would look and see if you have a Venus/Mars contact in your composite.

You have a Pisces

That was the first chart I looked at to determine

if Mars-Venus played a part in our (past) relationship.

My Mars formed an over 5° sextile with his Venus..

that was it.

BUT his Venus was conjunct my Moon.

Good stuff.

Attraction can be caused by any aspects between the gender planets... Sun, Moon, Mars, and Venus.

That is...

Sun/Moon
Sun/Mars
Sun/Venus
Moon/Mars
Moon/Venus
Mars/Venus

Aspects between the gender planets are the main movers and shakers in attraction. People often overlook the power of Sun/Moon aspects because they are so basic, but these aspects can cause a very strong, primal attraction. This includes the hard aspects which are supposed to indicate incompatibility. It's totally possible to be attracted to someone incompatible to us.

Also, when Pluto and Uranus aspect Venus or Mars this has been known to indicate attraction as well. I've heard Pluto aspecting the Sun or Moon can indicate attraction too. These aspects are said to have a mesmerizing effect.

Then on top of that there is house-ruler attraction. When someone aspects our 5th, 7th, or 8th house ruler with one of the gender planets this can be potent.

A gender planet aspecting the 1st house ruler (of our appearance) can indicate physical attraction as well. So can a gender planet aspecting the Asc/Dsc Axis of another, especially Venus or Mars aspecting the Asc.

Attraction is complicated, and when it's really strong this is usually due to a variety of factors all adding up together to make the attraction. Rarely is just one aspect. Really strong attractions usually arise from multiple synastry interconnections that indicate attraction, including the house ruler stuff.

@Lotis White, would you consider Venus or Mars square ASC as an attraction aspect?
I constantly hear about how this aspect can indicate that the Planet person might find the ASC person unattractive or unappealing.

Everyone else is welcome to share thoughts or experiences with this one too!

I think I asked myself this too, some time ago:
http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum24/HTML/225860.html

I haven't found a definitive answer yet, but I think what is important is to have a Yin/Yang kind of contact; if it's not with Venus/Mars, with Moon/Mars or perhaps Neptune/Mars.

I'm gonna take a look at it!!!

It's just that when I don't see a Venus-Mars aspect between the person I'm interested in and me, I get secretly disappointed lol

Don't be. Venus/mars is only physical attraction.
Which fades later on with harder aspects.
Look for deeper more meaningful connections.
That's what you really want,

In my opinion Venus/mars is more for flings or short term relationships.
The more meaningful aspects keep the people together much longer.

Plus I still believe we all of a "type" and specific standards.

You could have an exact Venus/mars with the bum on the corner, but he hasn't showered in months, no teeth. No hygiene etc. most likely you wouldn't feel sexually attracted to him, because he doesn't fit your standard.

The same goes with type. Of course it doesn't mean the other person isn't attractive. Just not that persons type.

I'll use me as an example.
For some reason, I just don't like guys with blonde hair.
I have never dated or went out with a guy with blonde hair.
When I see someone like brad Pitt, yes I think he's attractive, but he's not my type and I wouldn't be interested in dating him.
(I won't lie if he ever did ask me out, I would still go!) lol
But in the long run, he doesn't fit my type.

I'm more of a a Mark Whalberg kinda gal.
FYI. I've been in love (hee hee) with mark since I was a teen, and he was Markie Mark.

I prefer dark features on men. I think that's my Pluto
I'm not physically attracted to lighter features.
Yes, I'm blonde with hazel eyes, I have the palest skin in the world! Go figure.

Ha!

This reminded me of something I noticed.
I have Mars in Aquarius and p much every men I've had instant crushes on (that I actually know in real life) had Aquarius Sun.
So yeah, I believe in types. I also believe that it's no coincidence that Mars is said to rule our type of men!

If it wasn't enough, in my chart, Uranus conjunct Mercury (5H ruler) and sextile Venus.
And Pluto (7H ruler) square Mars.
So yeah, AQUA attraction guaranteed lol

My biggest crush ever has Sun and Venus in Aquarius.
Can't help my heart at this point lol

Yeah, but physical attraction is also important in a relationship, you know?
That's why it worries me

physical attraction is not just venus/mars. sun/mars is crazy physical attraction, look for eros/psyche connections too. moon/mars also.
and maybe you haven't looked at parallels and contraparallels...they are so powerful and no doubt some might pop up if you check these declinations.

Physical attraction has more than one aspect. It's not the only physical attractin aspect. See lotis post, she listed several physical attraction aspects.

I don't have any Venus/mars aspects with fishy.
When we first met, my plan was to seduce him! Which kinda backfired on me. Lol
I was and 6 years later am still so sexually attracted to him, I have to learn to control it.
I swear, I thought I was gonna just take him, right in the break room.
Not sure why. But it's the strongest sexual attraction, I've ever felt in my life!
My mars conjunct his asc
My mars sq his moon
Mars opps mars
Mars opps sun

I with my ex husband I had Venus/mars.

The difference. Is that Venus mars faded. Sex was great n the beginning, but after that. We didn't have much else.

With fishy. It's just more primal, hard to control attraction between us. Very deep and intense.
