Got this from one forum from my country, maybe you could give it a try and calculate for yourself.  Lets not take just marriage per se, but also include established relationship, as nowadays marriage is not always a case, but people still live together. I guess it's an old approach, but nevertheless. 1) Count marriage connections - to do this, you have to write out all planets that are connected to person's A 1st house - ASC ruler, any planet that is in the 1st house + Mars as a natural ruler of the house, + intercepted rulers, if there is any. Do the same for person B. Then write out A's 7th house planets in the same way as you did with 1st house (here Venus is used instead of Mars). Repeat for person B.
Then you have to count a total number of aspects that person's A 1st house planets could in theory make with person's B 7th house planets - for example, A has 4 planets connected to his 1st house, B has 2 planets connected to his 7th house, so we multiply them - got 8. Do the same the other way around, say got 6. Count them together and you get 14. Then count actual aspects that A's first house planets make to B's 7th house and vice versa (only major aspects, though squares and oppositions are, of course, counted). Better keep orbs tight, it was suggested 5 at max. For example, we got 8 aspects total. That makes 8 out of 14 possible, great!
2) Love formulas - in order to calculate love connections, they compared 5th house and 7th house, but i think that 8th house also should be taken into matter. Anyways, the formula is the same - for 5th house - Sun as natural ruler, the actual ruler of 5th house, any planets that are in that house + intercepted rulers, if any.
Maybe it would be appropriate to do another one for deeper connections, lol - 8th house to 7th house. IP: Logged |

I will post an example. For fun i took me and one of my best friends.  1) Planets connected to my 1st house: Mercury as ruler + Mars as natural ruler of 1st house = 2
Planets connected to my 7th house: Neptune as ruler + Venus as natural ruler of 7th house = 2 Planets connected to his 1st house: Jupiter as ruler, Mars as natural ruler + Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Moon, because they are in that house. = 6 Planets connected to his 7th house:
Mercury as ruler + Venus as natural ruler = 2 So total number of aspects in this position could be 16 ((6x2)+(2x2) Lets see, what's in it. My 1st to his 7th:
Mercury sextile Venus 1
Mars sextile Venus 0 His 1st to my 7th:
Mars square Neptune 4
Neptune conjunct Neptune 4
Moon square Venus 0
Moon conjunct Neptune 2 So in total we have 6 aspects out of 16 possible in this position, nothing great - no wonder, we are not a couple!

Total = 3/8 - again not great!

My 7th: Neptune, Venus His 8th: Moon, Venus, Pluto
His 7th: Mercury, Venus Possible aspects: 10 My 8th to his 7th:
Mars sextile Venus 0
Pluto square Venus 0 His 8th to my 7th:
Moon square Venus 0
Moon conjunct Neptune 2
Venus sextile Venus 0

I think the same could be done with comparing the connections between 5th/8th for sexual compatibility, maybe 1st/11th for friendship, etc. I'll come up with them later.Will you give it a try? IP: Logged |

I do believe that all these figure into the relationship profile (natural ruler, ruler of a house, planet ruling the house), but I doubt it can be calculated like that.
or if it can I will be doomed, I have like 6 planets connected to my 1st house.  Mars 5 Sag
ruler: Jupiter 11 Pisces
planets:
Neptune 10 Sag
Mercury 25 Sag
Sun 26 Sag
Venus 6 Cap No way they are all being hit, and not by just someone else`s 7th house planets. though I do think that the 25 mutable would come up as well as the 5-10 degrees mutable, possibly even in Virgo, as it would aspect both, the pisces and Sagittarius as well as the Capricorn in my chart.
However the thing is the higher the number of planets associated with a relationship house is, the lower the probability of synastric aspects gets.

Funny you say that. Mr Sag`s DESC-ruler is on 9 Sagittarius, intercepted DESC-ruler on 25 Cap.
Saturn on 26 Virgo on the DESC itself.
Pluto on 21 Libra in the intercepted part of the 7th house Epic, yes, possibly epic disaster. lol IP: Logged |
