Out of curiosity I'm wondering if there is one aspect that can override a chart for attraction.

For example, let's say in all cases a couple would be an ok match, what would bring the connection over the edge.

I'm just using any sign and combo to give examples below. So regardless of sign, what do you think it is.

Some examples with Person 1 and Person 2

P1 venus in Pisces/P2 Sun in Pisces

P1 Sun in Aquarius/P2 Sun in Aquarius

P1 Moon in Leo/P2 Sun in Leo

P1 Mars in Gemini/ P2 ASC in Gemini

Etc.

The tighter the aspect, the stronger the aspect! It's not necessarily based on which planet is aspecting which it's based on how tight the aspect is.
If 2 aspects are equally tight they will both be felt as strong as the other for good or bad.
The only thing that can change that is if one maybe is sitting on an Angle, Node, Midpoint, Vertex or making tight aspects to other places in the chart or even if one aspect is touching the Composite tight.

Gabby, may I ask your advice?

As a general rule of thumb I've always followed the above and thought it made perfect sense. But then what happens when you and your S.O. have tons of very close aspects? Like say 8 at 0 degrees and another 5 at 1 degree? How are you supposed to determine the "energy" of a relationship with so many contradicting influences? Do you then ignore the 1 degree aspects that are to the outer planets (like Neptune and Pluto) since they are so slow-moving? It's not so easy determining the more "powerful" aspects when you have so many :s

Conjunction is the most powerful aspect. 360 represents the whole cycle; divide by 2 to get next most powerful(opposition), then 3 to get next(trine), then 4(square), etc. I agree with Gabby about aspect closest to exact being more powerful. Largest bodies in solar system electromagnetically are Sun, then Jupiter (if a little larger, we would have had 2 Suns). Larger apparent sized planets are more powerful; Moon and Sun are approximately same apparent size.

That's a very good question...my opinion is your not going to be able to say one is more powerful, you will have several energies to balance all at once. If they are hard aspects it could mean the relationship is just to hard to navigate. If some are soft and others are hard, the soft aspects can help lessen the influence of the hard aspects since they are all so close in degree.
I would suggest purchasing Linda Goodmans book "Love Signs" it explains how each "love aspect" affects the relationship, plus explains how some aspects can lessen the tension of other aspects. Also explains how some of these hard aspects are not as major as they seem.

I know that you're right... I really DO need to get it. How can I respect Linda Goodman so much and not have read that yet, right? lol. We have 20 aspects between us and 9 of them are squares. Yes, some are fairly benign squares like Jupiter/Mercury, Venus-Mercury and Venus/Saturn. So I can't quite figure out what the dominant themes in our relationship are. Right now all I feel are the Sun-Neptune sextile, the sun-Pluto conjunction, our moon-moon sextile and the dominant third house theme in our composite, which I'm not supposed to feel at all. The way the Venus/Saturn seems to have manifested itself is that we took it seriously right off the bat, but we found no opposition to our relationship when it began it's all been pretty effortless. But I know that Saturn takes time...

Thanks for your help.
