On our private charts we have this placements, in synastry his Mars falls in my 8th house, my Venus falls in his 3rd house and these square. Does it count if we are 12th house oriented both? Does it make our attraction and understanding stronger?

12H points are tough. They're akin to tossing them into a cupboard, and, in some cases, throwing out the key. Can't access that energy even when you want to. The trick is that we come into existence with an intrinsic need to have something other help us to unlock these energies. It could be a transit, but it's most often (and more dramatically) a person. But there's a catch.

A woman with 12H VENUS has issues with accessing and expressing her femininity; a man with MARS in his 12H has the same issues but with his masculinity. If this is a relationship to help both integrate these energies, then there will aspects -- usually conjunctions -- to each. House overlays (his MARS in your 8H, your VENUS in his 3H) are meaningless without that connexion.

The aspect between them, his MARS to your VENUS, is hopeful; it's a bit like the two being able to telephone each other from the dungeon into which fate has thrown them. So, there's a connexion, but there's no interaction per se, because VENUS and MARS are famous for one thing, and that's sex. Most you're gonna get from this is, well, phone sex? Heh! It'll be a lot of fantasising and planning and 'oh, what I'm going to do to you!' with very little, if any, of the actual doing.

That's because, at heart, your femininity is locked up just as his masculinity is as well.

Necessary caveat: the older we get, the more transits we have and relationships with synastry that helps us to uncover and discover these energies. Your level of difficulty will vary with experience. You'll know if you're exhibiting your VENUS or not, and likewise with his MARS.

Indeed, his MARS could be very sexy, squaring your VENUS and overlaying your 8H, if he's able to express it.

In the instance that such is hidden away, we can identify relationships that are geared towards bringing it about by conjunctions to the 12H points in synastry.

Is anything on your VENUS from his chart? Anything from your chart conjunct his MARS?

These are the next questions to ask.

No, we have more aspects except Venus square Mars. Esp. my Moon conjuncts that Mars-Pluto. Our connection and chemistry was fast. We kissed the first night we met, and started dating immediately. Here is our synastry so you can get the whole picture. I'm the inner wheel:

Hm. Nope, there's nothing conjunct your VENUS or his MARS.

That's okay. It'll just be tougher to access those energies if there's already difficulty. If there isn't, I wouldn't worry about it.

Your initial question, does it make it deeper and stronger? Actually, no. It's known to confuse things; 12H is famous for misunderstandings, miscommunication, and misinterpretation. The real trick is to be CLEAR and forthright. Make NO assumptions. That's the quickest way to confusion and conflict.

The only conjunction is my Moon and Jupiter on his Mars-Pluto, it doesn't count? It's already difficult, it's so tough to approach him and I'm difficult too. 12th house sucks and it sucks more that we both have planets there. Thanks for taking time to answer Aubyanne!

Oh, I see. Your MOON is 6° conjunct his MARS?

Anything on your VENUS?

Correct, 5-6 degrees! Not a conjunction on my Venus though, just trines, sextiles and a square from his Mars. Our synastry is quite nice and so is our composite chart (Sun-Venus-Mercury conjunction), I still hate our 12th houses though lol!

I'd say if you're not having issues in the romance department -- your expressing your femininity, him his masculinity -- I wouldn't worry. The fact your MOON's on his MARS definitely helps him to express it.

Do you feel your VENUS is the issue, or IS there any issue at all?
