The most annoying thing is that I know how this aspect manifests, and it usually ends in misunderstanding as the Mercury person feels that the Mars person antagonises them OR the Mercury person pushes the Mars person - goading them to respond and then acting innocent when the Mars person blows up.

I have been both the Mars and Mercury person in synastey; but find that I am often the Mars person - yay! Not.

As this aspects keeps cropping up, I was wondering whether there was a lesson in it? What am I supposed to learn? I am becoming more self aware and usually, I avoid peopl who attempt to push my buttons.

However, I realise that the bigger lesson to learn might be that I need to change how I respond to people and their deliberate/unintentional provocation.

I find that being an Aries Mars/Moon I am an easy scapegoat, but enough is enough! I've started to tell people exact what I think - using logical/unemotive language but I just feel this is sooooo challenging.

My mars is the most aspected, most afflicted planet in my chart along with Aries ruling my 12th house.

Me and my first love had Moon-Pluto double whammy along with his Psyche conjunct my moon, my psyche conjunct his Venus in synastry.

Also, a Scorpio love stellium in composite, 7th house with moon/mercury/venus conjunct Pluto! So my reply definitely might be modified by our other aspects.

Anyway, my mars was conjunct his mercury exact along with his mars square my moon exact! Not to mention we're both Scorpios. It was very intense, emotional, and painful. The pain felt like a painful bliss. It was the most soul-wrenching, soul-transforming experience ever. There was a lot of immature mocking, criticism on both of our parts. He would tease and say hurtful things just because he knew i would react. He loved seeing me in pain.

Would I do it again? Hmmm, probably not. This aspect created a lot of unnecessary issues between me and him, mainly what you described. His Moon/Mercury/Venus in Sagittarius was already at odds with my mercury/Venus in Scorpio. Plus, as you can see from my natal, I'm heavily Plutonian and Saturian all afflect his mercury. Our relationship was painfully beautiful if I had to describe it in a few words. We were so deeply involved.

His karma was also conjunct my moon exact so once again, it could be biased.
