I'm interested in hearing from the more experienced about interpreting who is doing what to whom in synastry.

If two planets are involved, how do you interpret the energy each way? Do outer planets hold more sway over personal planets? Vice versa? Do minor aspects in tight orb count? What if one personal planet weakly aspects the rest?

If a planet and an asteroid make contact, is the planet activating the asteroid or something? What's the effect of two asteroids making contact with each other? How can you interpret the aspects? I assume a planet square an asteroid is different from the same planet sextile the asteroid.

I guess, basically, where can someone learn to interpret aspects and patterns?

Thanks in advance.

You can learn here

That is astrology, what you describe, and it takes time and practice.
It's hard to pinpoint some general rules, for what you ask for compiles all the possible rules in relational astrology.

For example, in determining which planet is more receptive in a synastry, the outer or the personal, you need to take the whole natal chart into account.

Since Saturn my chart ruler is conj DSC in Cancer, anyone touching may make me feel much more than in other cases, and maybe more than they do (Saturn not being an outer, but more like a frontier planet, between personal and transpersonal...Ceri taught me that so yes, this is the right place to learn these things

Generally personal planets are the points of impact, the feelers, but to judge how receptive an outer is, you need to look at the whole chart and see what it rules, how dominant it is etc.

There is just too much to add here for your question, practically the whole astrology knowledge as I said haha but I can add as one more idea: there are more receptive planets and asteroids (such as Moon and Eros, for instance), more receptive overlays (love houses and personalized love houses, very important)
