If there's one thing that's become synonymous with twin flames, it's this silent vow:

Forever and always, no matter what, I'll never let go, I'll never give up.

And, refraining from the obvious Titanic joke here -- we seem to really mean it, too. In marriage, we may pledge 'til death do us part, in relationships, we may give it our all -- so long as no one trips a deal-breaker -- and, with our soulmates, we're always kind of quietly watching for those karmic lessons we know are never far behind. And, if the going gets too tough, well ... we might just get going.

So, despite the actuality, veracity, or confirmation of what is a twin flame, or who might be twin flames, it holds this commonality; this sacred oath:

You and me, together forever, come what may, no time, distance, nor circumstance is greater than this love; full stop.

It's the only relationship, really, which we imbue with such phenomenal -- even unreasonable -- expectations, and swear to conducting ourselves with unconditional love -- no matter how much our beloved may sometimes come out swinging. For that reason, it's the most complex sort of promise we can make to another human being, and should never be undertaken lightly.

That's why this isn't yet another 'how can we use astrology to identify twin flames?' thread -- we've got more than enough going strong in that area.

This one is for those who are in a 'twin flame' relationship, and are seeking how to best make it work with what they've got.

It's as simple as that; a cause of which Linda herself would be a proponent.

Do you have to be twin flames in order to participate? Of course not!

I've simply chosen this term in hopes to convey the unwavering dedication to such a relationship, which is beyond the conventional standard; that to which you have dedicated yourself, come hell or high water. The term itself is meaningless. The commitment -- and the belief in the sacred nature of said relationship -- is what matters.

What might we explore here?

I hope to delve into the actual astrology of couples undertaking this sort of relationship. Looking into concepts of principles such as mirrored behaviour -- how it can instigate growth, but also create obstacles -- how these couples may be going through 'stages' or 'phases' that differ from the traditional models, the impact of the 'shared mission' or transcendental goal, and whether certain rituals (such as the Hieros Gamos) factor. Perhaps through transits, progressions, and focussing upon the actual conditions of certain points in synastry -- regardless of aspect -- we could begin to build a kind of 'twin flame astrology' that would be of use to those who are operating by this model.

The idea came to me when I realised that my ISIS is triseptile my boyfriend's OSIRIS.

... really? A triseptile? I remember thinking, what? But there's supposed to be a conjunction! Unity! Fusion! It's all HAPPENING, right there -- bam! What was this triseptile business? Pass.

And so I did. I've never really given a whole lot of thought to the relationship between his OSIRIS and my ISIS. It seemed like a non-issue. But when one has to consider things such as the Hieros Gamos, or joining forces for the purpose of uniting the divine feminine and masculine -- then ISIS and OSIRIS become very important.

Not only that, I can't deny how much I've had to 'learn to integrate my ISIS' and explore the divine feminine.

Not to mention having to collect so many pieces of himself that he's lost, scattered along the way, bit by bit, slowly but surely recreating a living human being. What else could someone reasonably look to but OSIRIS?

So I've begun to give our 'silly little triseptile' some real consideration; trying to understand what the message is, and why we've chosen that over the conjunction, opposition, or otherwise.

That brought me to -- of course, the harmonics. The Seventh, especially.

Of course, that means the whole septile series will be reflected in these, with a 'conjunction' of ISIS and OSIRIS, wide, due to the orb. Meaning the potential (after all, it's a triseptile) is indeed there, but there's going to need to be an integration of these two degrees: the 11th (my ISIS) and the 18th (his OSIRIS).

And so I noticed an even deeper -- though ambient -- connexion. How our SUNs are also in Aquarius, but 14º in orb -- the biseptile in our tropical synastry. And that my H7SUN is 3º from my H7ISIS, showing a strong unity between them; his H7SUN, however, is 10º from his H7OSIRIS -- showing this strange sense of almost-but-not-quite.

So, I have the 'conjunction' of ISIS and the SUN, and his SUN is out of orb of his OSIRIS; however -- my 'SUN-ISIS' is not; it's only 4º from it, showing a rather powerful relationship between my H7SUN-ISIS and his H7OSIRIS.

I couldn't help but notice how these degrees -- 11º, 14º, 18º, and 29º -- are all scattered along Aquarius -- and are in the path of his tropical progressed MOON. Apples and oranges, I know -- but energy is energy, no matter how we express it.

There may be secrets untold, awaiting my discovery, by exploring these degrees and their Sabians.

In any case, we have a 0º03 conjunction of his H7SUN and my H7CHIRON -- at 29º Aquarius. That's jaw-droppingly close, and obviously warrants further investigation, considering how crucial the H7 charts are to all creatives or artists of any kind.

I think once we 'settle' upon the relationship, regardless of what we label it, we're free to truly explore what it means, and how we can best use what we already know -- astrology -- to maximise its potential and know that we're 'doing what we're here to do' in this special relationship and incredible connexion -- despite its nature or terminology.

I hope you'll explore with me, as this could prove a most fruitful endeavour for so many of us.

Does it have to be Osiris/Isis or just the tri-septile aspect?

I had tri-septile and/or quadronovile aspect between me and a very karmic relationship but it isnt Isis/Osiris those asteroids do aspect, one way they are trine and the other way they are opposed each other...

But the tri-septile is between eros/psyche...
His Eros is conjunct my Eros 0 degree
His Psyche is conjunct my Psyche 2-3 degree

Quadronovile is 160 degrees
Tri-Septile is 154.5 degrees

His Eros to my Psyche 155 degrees apart
My Eros to his Psyche 157.5 degrees apart

Of course that means in both our natal chart's our Eros/Psyche are tri-septile

Both our Eros/Psyche midpoints are somewhere around pisces@27-29
My Mars gemini@29
His Pluto virgo@28

I think it's more the relationship of the ISIS/OSIRIS with the triseptile in our specific case.

But you've got dual conjunctions of EROS and PSYCHE? Wow! That's clearly something. Has your relationship felt very 'Eros and Psyche' in theme?

My complicated relationship with my ex-partner certainly did; but with my boyfriend, it's always had more of an ISIS/OSIRIS feel. Hence, the lack of the aspect seemed ... surprising.

His ISIS is quindecile my OSIRIS, as well. Which I find interesting.

I find the whole septile series very interesting...they are about wisdom or searching to find wisdom....they are one of the "infinite" aspects because the number 7 is never whole so it continues on forever.

They give an ability to comprehend realities other than your own, so i defnitely see how they could relate to TF and SM relationships. They also are considered inline with the vertex axis, which gives us access to other realities definitely an aspect that potentially helps one to undestand or cross realities relating to our higher self/consciousness...

The Virgo and I have Venus septile Venus, 0'07 orb.... it's always interested me. The strange amount of same-planet minor/harmonic aspects is notable too, as we have
Mercury novile Mercury
Venus septile Venus
and
Sun quintile Sun

Super interesting given Sun is natural to 5th harmonics/ruler of the 5th and Venus has a special resonance with 7th, no? Also going out on a limb and saying mercury with multiples of 3 makes good sense.

also, heck:

his Mercury is septile my Sun

^ HUH in my 7th Harmonic my MOON conjuncts ISIS and OSIRIS.

The septile series are found by dividing 360 degrees by 7 so the septile aspect = 51 degrees 25 minutes 43 seconds. Multiples of this give bi-septile = 102° 51’26”; tri-septile = 154° 17’ 08”; quad-septile = 205° 42’ 51”; quin-septile = 257°08’34”; sen-septile 308° 34’17”. This makes up a seven point star.

My Moon in Pisces @21d49
My Osiris in Taurus @12d44
My Isis in Cancer @4d37

So my moon septiles my OSIRIS and biseptiles my ISIS! Plus I have Sun conjunct Horus.

My moon just keeps getting more and more interesting; its the nucleus of my chart.

^Mr. Scorpios DC conjuncts my MOON tight and aspects my Osiris by septile and Isis by bi-septile even more tightly!

We also have Isis sextile Osiris by 2.5d and Isis trine Osiris but the trine is wide by about 5d.

Further his Progressed Isis-Osiris conjunct my Progressed venus-mars have have been for about a decade or so..

His natal Isis conjuncts my natural Priapus.

... more: his SN and Sun are both septile my Vesta; his NN and Vesta septile my MC. Natally she is very near my ascendant, and natally for him she's very near his NN.

I dunno why the Vesta septiles. Infinite devotion loop of some strange kind seems possible, from him for sure and from me sorta lol...

Wow Hyp!!
Each septile has its own meaning, the 7 pointed star....each aspect is like a part of a spritual evolution.

What i used to do is start from someones AC, use the AC as the first degree and then count every septile aspect/degree and find what planet/asteroid fell there on that septile.
Whichever septile it is and its meaning is related the planet/asteroid and growth...
It tells a story about how you can gain wisdom/evolution with each of those starting points.
I have alot of my planets falling septile each other...
You can do the same with your Sun as the first degree and your Moon, Merc, Venus, Mars...
Its really amazing to research...

I have a chart i wrote up years ago so i could easily find all the septiles, i had all the meanings written out, i need to see if i can locate them.

I know what you mean by settle and i know what you mean by special but i hope it is ok to contribute my experiences in this thread even though i don't have a partner with whom i feel right committing in that way.. i am in a constant process of settling with the many relationships I've been in--and working out the whys and hows of them. I think no matter the circumstances this is a useful endeavour. Deeper understanding of that which informs the energies at play. So useful, very fun to explore, the meat of life.

You're always welcome, and we're all always learning on top of that. Here's an interesting thought, though: what do you think would have to be present for you to feel as if you could commit in such a deeply devoted and unconditional way?

Was reading about Vajra in 'Foundations of Tibetan Mysticism' today and thinking of you.. such a beautiful concept. Diamond strong!.. Gorgeous chart, so pleasingly comprehensive.

I don't know. I kind of worry that isn't in the cards for me. I frequently feel deeply devoted to my partners... and come out of the fog and shake myself and see that I'm much more deeply devoted to a concept and a sense of security than I am to them as a person--it's an important lesson for me--to see people for their own value, in a realistic light, and love them for them, no matter what they are to me. Still, I find I am capable of great depth and devotion but ultimately I think I reserve it for... something else... krishna, everything--the eternal now... a delicious emptiness which is gently filled with sunlight and earth and plants and rivers, time with my daughter... I'm not easy to pin down as much as I crave utter devotion and stability and closeness..

I am devoted to my friends. One friend with her Sun on my NN, I love her so dearly. Still we go our separate ways because we must.

I feel like the service I'm meant to render to others and my experience of fulfilling relatedness in this lifetime is so important but perhaps narrowing it to one particular other isn't possible--or necessary--or ultimately beneficial to everyone in the ways I otherwise could be. Maybe if I balance myself out and enter into a truly rewarding and tempered partnership, it could be beneficial... it's certainly an exciting thought. I wish it could work... but if it's not going to i can still have a fulfilling life.

I'm not a sexually polyamorous type, though I thought I was--wanted to be--poly and pansexual in my teens, I have a very strong monogamous streak which keeps me utterly fixated on one person. I think it's linked to my attachment wound, chiron in Cancer, in the 9th--I'm particularly devastated by perceived abandonment, having been left with a strange babysitter (who much later became the executor of my father's will) in a foreign country, suddenly, at a young age by a mother who was otherwise CONSTANTLY by my side and utterly devoted to me in every way, entertaining and loving and nurturing in the extreme--a Leo mother with an Aquarius moon...
I kicked and screamed for the entire time my parents were out at Phantom of the Opera, didn't give that man a moments respite from my demonic rage. The same thing emerged when I was separated from my boyfriend at 15, though he was an awful match for me. A cancer sun, he was. Probably right on my chiron--come to think of it. I went nuts! From a scholarly whiz to a total basket case addict.

oh the rambles. You did ask!

I think I'm kinda healing that wound, at least recognizing it, gently freeing myself from my mortal Need for Closeness At All Costs, my desperation--through increasingly conscious break-ups and partings... this recent decision was the most peaceful and level headed in a long string of totally ridiculous hangings-on to very dead and damaging relationships.

I want to still hang out in IA... lol... synastry is what got me into astrology and it's still so interesting and important to me. But it has almost always been predicated upon wanting to find evidence that this kind of devotion is warranted, final, irrefutable... still, I look at the synastry with the Sagittarius babydaddy and think how meant to be it is... the fairytale programming I guess. And it IS meant to be. It IS profound. But not... fated to be--any certain way--you know? Not like, happily ever after. But still important and interesting. Still very compelling and meaningful. And I guess there's nothing too bad about wanting to feel that thrill of meaning... sense of belonging, and true interaction.
