There was a thred not too long ago that someone had posted the synastry of their children. In honor of that - because I loved the idea - I am asking: Who do I get along with better, Mom or Dad? The synastry charts are below!I am in blue. First- Mom's synastry with me

Argh haha it's pretty wild, not easy to guess. The activation of your NN by Dad's Jupiter is pretty significant, you'll feel like he's expanding your horizons in a positive way... or he is whether you know it or not? Whereas Mom's Saturn on your Saturn and SN gives a lot of stability and understanding, while also making things feel kinda heavywith her at times, especially given the squares from Saturn to Moon--an indicator natally that the stress in your relationship with her is significant. His Mars near your Saturn and SN could give you two some discord, and the relationship could be too simplistic for you overall compared to the weight and depth of the aspects with mom... i dunno though, as i said--could go a few different ways IP: Logged |

Its a tough call but I feel the dad gets more on her nerves, it's more critical and controlling. That sesquisquare to her Neptune in the 5th, he probably critizes her crushes and dating life, or doesn't approve who she likes or supports her artistic/neptunian side but on the other hand is very supportive of her higher learning, he probably tells her "go to college! Don't be a starving artist." Her mom is more light and easy going and completes that butterfly for her with her sun conjunct mercury and also her Neptune Yod so mother is more supportive of her Neptune inconjunct chiron...maybe she wants to go into art therapy or counsel kids. Mother also probably assists with helping daughter heal after heart breaks.Its interesting you all 3 have Saturn in Scorpio. IP: Logged |

I also think mom. Dad's Saturn on Venus/Mars is tough. But then her mom's sun is on Chiron.

The power struggles are with dad...you have beautiful composites with both. I would say you have a deep bond with both but get along more with Mom.IP: Logged |

I noticed the chiron yod and commented on it...I feel that yod has to do with her calling and purpose here and the mom's sun on it I feel means she is supportive of it and would also help daughter heal... IP: Logged |

I actually like both, but for a bit smoother one I`d say - very hesitataingly- Dad.
Though the Mom-synastry looks SO intense and probably karmic (well most parents-children-relationships are anyway), transformative, too. IP: Logged |

Yeah.. my vascillation kind of relates to the possibility that the difficult aspects which do exist with Dad seem starker and more difficult to bear... given how closely you *identify* with mom, the difficulties will seem more a part of you maybe. IP: Logged |

You like both people which is good  I think the composite says mom. Though she can make you feel very sensitive and you both got on each other's nerves. You just seem to have more fun with Mom. The synastry kinda shows too. You like to spend more time with mom. Plus you are a Leo rising with Venus-Mars in Aries. Doing stuff is important  IP: Logged |

Thanks to everyone who responded! I loved reading your analyses. Most of you were right in the fact that I get along with both of my parents. However, I find my relationship with my dad to be more natural and easy going. We are a lot alike. We have only gotten in one fight that lasted a few days of us not talking to each other (partly because we are both stubborn). But other than that, we are very laid back people. My dad can however get into these weird sensitive moods. I guess that's his cancer moon. And I understand him and give him his space. My mom doesn't understand them and takes them personally. He has always been supportive of me growing up but has allowed me my space and freedom to figure things out without hovering. I would say though, that I was never a "daddy's girl". I could tell he loved me in his actions like fixing things for me, but never from seeing him emotional about me. He was never really restricting or a harsh figure. He didn't really get involved with my dating life either, he kind of stayed out of that. My mom and I are good friends. Although growing up she was a bit overprotective you could say. I was also her pseudo counselor while I was growing up ever since I was a child. She has bipolar, suffered from depression, and has a history of self esteem issues so I felt the need to help her through that. I'm not sure if the charts reference to any of that. We never really got in fights, but she does stress me out at times because she is so anxious and on the go alllll the time. I have told her I need her energy to calm down at times because it was making me anxious too! She does get offended with me from time to time over little things that I mean no harm with, but she's just a sensitive person to begin with. Overall, I think you all summed it up nicely! I get along well with both of my parents. I think emotionally I'm closer to my mom, but personality wise I'm more like my dad! Thanks for participating!! IP: Logged |

I was thinking about going into art therapy or becoming a counselor when I was still in school! My mom has helped me a lot with heart aches after breakups. She always seems to know what guys aren't good for me. And she is honest with me and says I can do better. And I am stubborn and don't listen. And when the relationship falls apart, she doesn't judge me, she just lets me cry and offers whatever she can to help. IP: Logged |

Here is my mom's natal:  I actually went for a totally different career field- human resources! I studied art in college and intended on doing graphic design. I contemplated art therapy or counseling for grad school, but I stumbled across my job which turned into HR and realized I didn't need to get a masters for it, so I saved some money! IP: Logged |
