They had: Sun on Moon, Saturn (her Sun) Moon, Jupiter on Venus, ASC (her Moon) Venus, DSC on Sun, Mercury (her Venus, DSC) Mercury on IC (her Mercury) NN conj MC (her NN) I know this is all general but on paper this seems nice enough, no?? Anyhow, she cheated and he never spoke to her again.

That is why every chart comparision has to start with an analaysis of the natals and how they "fit", and why the analysis must not conclude without checking the progressions/transit. IP: Logged |

They did have a conjunction of Pluto, Mars, Uranus, MC opp. Sun and Moon in composite. Perhaps not good? IP: Logged |

A little off topic but is this also, for the reverse reason, why a couple with seemingly blah synastry works - because of better progressed synastry/composite?IP: Logged |

Perhaps. But I don`t think it can be told for sure without knowing the natals. One couple`s poison might be another couple`s cure, if you know what I mean. IP: Logged |

Yes. At least temporarily. IP: Logged |

It's difficult to understand why things don't work OT by looking at the synastry. You need to look at the individuals first. For example on paper sun on moon might look good. But personally I can stand it. Even trine moons I don't like. I have a fire sun and a fire moon and I do like fire moons. My favorite moon is a moon opposite my sun or moon. I love Gemini moons. What works on paper doesn't alway work in real life. IP: Logged |

I also have a Fire Sun and I love Fire Suns and Moons, but my 7th house ruler is conjunct my Sun, and actually it is the ONLY aspect my Sun has, so someone`s planet there really brings it out and to awareness, which I like. But that is because of the natal makeup. Funny enough I am not so fond of conjunctions to my Moon (except in friendships, then it is alright and happens more often than probability dictates probably); while Moon is considered unaspected, I certainly feel the exact quinkunx to Saturn, and any Sun there would bring out that issue even more without really bringing some complementarity or balance point, just emphasizing the stuff. It probably would be different if the other person had another planet also aspecting my Moon and Saturn, but a sole Sun on my Moon? Nope, not for me. IP: Logged |

Exactly! And that is why we can't really assess why things don't work based on 'on paper' only. Fire moons! Ugh! There can only be one drama queen in a relationship and that has to be me! lol I love fire Suns though! IP: Logged |

Lucie, yes, that is what I wanted to say, too. LOL @ the only Dramaqueen. I have a Fire Sun (Sag) and an Air Moon (Aquarius). I just love Fire Suns and Moon (especially Sagittarius and Aries). Maybe the Air Moon gives a bit of "breathing space". I think Fire Moons are just so cute in their overflowing enthusiasm sometimes, which seems more spontaneous and unrestrained as Fire Suns even somehow. Or maybe my fire is tempered by the Mercury in conjunction and the Air Moon, which tends to analyze before jumping off that cliff.

Yeah... They are cute when they are enthusiastic. I like that as well. They are not so cute when they are flipping out! In the last three years I've dated two (Leo with aires moon & Aqua with Leo moon) and I don get why I cause them to flip out! I think you are right. Fire Suns with air moons would be good, less 'drama'. I could get into a fire sun with an Aqua moon. How come we can't just date by choosing the astro combo we like then getting a list of candidates? LOL. Didn't I just say you can't tell 'on paper'? I'll bet my sag moon/mercury square Pluto is the 'problem' with other fire moons. We always, always need to see the natal charts and not just look at a list of 'good' aspects.
