Because of my natal chart placements I can't seem to avoid harsh squares in synastry. Mostly with Neptune. Natally my own Neptune squares my Mars Venus midpoint.

People in my age group have Neptune in mid Sag. If its early Sag, it squares my Venus. The earlier it gets in Sag it begins to square my MC too, and is conjunct my ASC. If it's later, it squares my Mars. I have tried dating men who have Neptune in Scorpio, and it squares my Saturn and Mercury, and is conjunct my ASC from 12th house side. The men who are much older and have Neptune in mid Scorpio have turned out to be platonic connections.

I'm discouraged! Every description of Neptune squares says run for the hills. I can't seem to figure out what I am supposed to do when every direction I turn is going to give me Neptune squares. What do I do?

This is my chart:

Mereiposa, I just needed to come in and say that your natal is pretty much exact with my progressed chart at the moment. Was kinda mind boggled

Hi EmGem!

I've seen your chart before and from some of your posts we have some similarities, don't we?

At least yours is passing! I'm in the dating scene and completely stumped as to what to do. I meet so many great guys with potential and then I see the synastry. I am counting on free will, but reading the interpretations is not inspiring.

Oh mereiposa, I feel for you! I don't know what to suggest and I really hope someone has some answers for you.

I'm sure that person is out there for you and remember that astrology only denotes potential. Just think about those cases you've probably heard of that have the worst looking synastry and yet they have amazing relationships. Just keep the faith

I meet so many great guys with potential and then I see the synastry.

maybe there is a little test in here to trust your gut and go with it before delving into the synastry? maybe that only really needs to be done if there are relationship issues. easier said than done I know! we all do it

Date someone a bit younger. Someone born around '80-'82 would be perfect.

I still have squares- Neptune square Mars. And maybe it's the Cap Moon in me, but dating younger men is not very appealing. Even dating men my same age is not attractive. I've done it, and of course for the right one I would consider it. But so far, I'm just not attracted. I will try to open my mind though, not be closed off about it.

Like EmGem said, I need to remember that it's just potential. I can make it what I want, and hopefully my partner exercises his free will too.

You're right, '77 would be better. You have this natally, and it's also pretty wide, so dating someone around your age and having the square wouldn't be so bad since you're used to it.

I thought about that one. Then it comes down to Saturn and Uranus. It's funny because I usually am magnetically drawn to the terrible synastry, and the ones that would be a better fit provide no real attraction!

I have met two different men with Pluto conjunct my Venus, and nada. One even had Mars and Pluto conjunct my Venus, still nothing. If I weren't trying to find a good match, it would be kind of amusing! Lol

Also, my sister is '75. So her neptune squares my venus, and while yes, it hurts sometimes, I still love her and will always keep her close. I just had to define boundaries in the relationship.

My daughters too- my Neptune opposes my oldest's Sun and squares my youngest's Sun. I love those kids more than life itself, and no matter what I will always strive to keep a strong, loving relationship.

So maybe it doesn't have to be that awful that it destroys relationships.
