I have been looking at it differently since learning about the difficulty of planets 'combust' the Sun and have modified my approach to take the possibilities of overwhelm into account. Of course in this case the moon was cazimi but some accounts have it that the moon cazimi is no better. This is all horary rules I'm drawing from, mind you. It's different in relationship astrology. I don't see any single aspect as a guarantee of longevity or compatibility. Gotta see the whole picture. Perhaps Sun/Venus conjunctions come closest to guaranteeing love which continues through thick and thin, but even this is no guarantee. Sun conjunct Moon shows potential, vulnerability, merging of yin and yang, all these things. It matters whether it's applying or separating. I love a new moon in a composite chart which has moved a ways beyond the conjunction, actually (no coincidence that I have this with someone right now). It shows that the potential represented by the new moon is already developing, visible, a sprout. It gives you something well formed, with roots. No bird's gonna come eat the seed. And you always feel like you have a lot to look forward to. Actually despite there being no aspect between sun and moon I would always take into account the phase of the moon in the composite. It says a GREAT deal about the energy of the interactions. Waxing crescent, Half, Gibbous, Balsamic... all have very specific energies and they'll be felt in every composite. IP: Logged |

yungang, verrrry interesting! It shows that the potential represented by the new moon is already developing, visible, a sprout. It gives you something well formed, with roots. No bird's gonna come eat the seed. And you always feel like you have a lot to look forward to. love this We have composite moon at 0* virgo (conjuncting both our natal moons), that's new right? actually, come to think of it, the davison has a 0* pisces moon too! A new moon in the chart is a SUN-MOON conjunction. What yungang meant is when the MOON is separating from the conjunction, signifying the start of the new lunar cycle, as opposed to aspecting, which would signify the end.@yungang - that can get complicated when your midpoint picture involves a dual-located MOON, due to a natal opposition. That would be a separating new moon, and a separating full moon at the same time. IP: Logged |
