I was watching some astrology videos and found a vedic astrologer who has a video about Jupiter aspects in synastry. In his opinion, Jupiter can have an overly optimistic view of the Venus person, putting that person on a pedestal of wishful thinking until Venus reveals herself as a human being. Then Jupiter tends to feel that Venus is not what he thought she was, Jupiter being unable to accept the flaws he didn't see the first hand around. There is no mention of what aspect he is talking about, but I suspect this is more relevant with harder aspects. This comes as a surprise to me because I have always read Venus / Jupiter in synastry as positive for the most part. Specifically, I have read over and over how much fun this energy gives to a relationship. Here is the video for anyone interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGYmpQdbNd4 Do you agree / disagree? What is your take on Venus / Jupiter aspects in synastry? IP: Logged |

There's always a possibility of overreaching with Jupiter which should not be minimized (and can't be! ). This description sounds more like Neptune to me though, and in combo with a hard prominent Neptune interaspect we could very well expect an ultimately very disappointing aggrandizement of the other person. However I think that by and large flowing Jupiter aspects are extremely positive, rooted in reality (Jupiter is after all within the orbit of Saturn). Jupiter's optimism can be tempered but never completely subdued. So it's true that there will be some difficulty reconciling the optimistic perception with reality, and there may be some tension on these grounds; but a good impression made by somebody in Jupiter's favour will never really fade. Robert Hand writes that Jupiter in the 1st house or conjunct the ascendant of a composite chart will have both parties coming away feeling as if they've benefited from the relationship. Ultimately I don't think Jupiter really lends itself to disillusionment so much as exaggerated positivity which may nevertheless be overshadowed by other factors... never completely snuffed out.A values conflict could be indicated by a square between Venus and Jupiter. There will be good feelings but some confusion is likely because these aren't the things you're normally attracted to, type deal. Things can get out of hand; buying expensive stuff, expensive vacations, overgrowth in various areas which might ultimately necessitate a clamping-down, which will come from Saturn by transit or progression... taoist principle... beware of hasty overgrowth... it isn't in keeping with the tao. That which grows quickly must also fade. This is also true of emotions and perceptions. Letting them ripen slowly ensures a more realistic view. Jupiter-Venus interaspects kind of act like growth steroids to the Venus person's charm. It can feel really good but it's important to guard against burning out. Saturn aspects will be beneficial here. Nothing exists in a vacuum so I can only ramble about this for so long. My Jupiter is conjunct my lover's Venus and I did go through a long period of not thinking he was as great as I used to... but I'm back to thinking he is the bee's knees now Jupiter is benevolent, Venus is appreciative; it's really altogether a beautiful combo. But I do notice my appreciation of him coming in fits and starts, and at times it's true I idealize him and then "come down" off the high and begin to doubt a little.... I really think he deserves it though, ultimately ... I think ultimately Jupiter's aim is true. IP: Logged | |
