NN conj ASC is a classical aspect for couples, and any important partnership in your life. Sun conj DSC is yet another classical marker for someone fitting your type, or at least an important partner, it remains to be established if romantic or not, for the DSC is not always romantic; for example, this aspect could come up in a business partnership as well.
But the DSC, apart from showing what kind of partner we are, with people (hence also what we are looking for) it is an essential relationship marker for any chart.
Jupiter brings a double meeting with fate connotation, usually expansive, focused on learning and travel, or a stroke of luck/fate, when it conj the NN in synastry.
This person could be a brother, a friend, a mentor, a teacher, a lucky presence in your life.

Are you referencing your NN, her ASC?

Have you seen this thread: http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum37/HTML/000025.html

I know it must be hard to separate because you have SN in cap along with all that cap energy; I have it too (cap SN , moon in cap). I think I mentioned that my husband is a cancer rising too, but his ASC doesn't conjunct my NN. I've found that I'm intensely attracted to those with MC on my NN, but discomforted by those with ASC or planets there. I think this is true for me because the ruler of my NN is my cap moon. Yours is in gem which is also the sign on your IC; think of how that manifests for you. I also like the energy of their NN my MC. I don't completely understand it. I guess I need the NN energy to manifest in a cappy way. Can you relate?

What looks really interesting in your chart comparison is Jupiter square your nodal axis. This is called a skipped step, and it's conjunct your wife's NN. I'm interested to hear about this aspect. First, check if it's really in square aspect.

Here are some articles:
http://sasstrology.com/2012/02/what-happens-wh en-you-meet-your-skipped-step-repaying-karmic-debts-in-romantic-relationships.html
http://astrodynamics.net/psychological-inheritance-and-the-lunar-nodes/

This second article speaks of a skipped step as a "psychological inheritance." "A pattern or way of looking at the world that holds us back and keeps us from being able to move forward in life." She gives the the example of a Saturn square the nodes, so you'll have to apply jupiter's themes especially in relation to your ASC (the self and the other), MC (home/work, mother/father), and 2nd house (values/possessions).

Like I said, I'm a novice; I cannot tell you what it all means, but maybe I can direct you to some meaningful info!

I should add that I think the best way to understand it in synastry is to understand its influence on yourself or in the natal first.

quote:

HOUSE 5: Creativity

Just think of being able to bring forth all the emotional, soul-full wisdom and caring of the Cancer energy you're learning about in ways that can touch not only your own heart, but others' as well. What a great assignment! But you must be careful: the focus of this assignment is no t on the audience. Part One of the goal is to express those beautiful, feeling qualities that are within you in your own unique way. Perhaps it will be through an emotionally true poem or a story....or a painting that stirs feelings even as it bathes the eye in beauty....or a meal whose menu and caring preparation stirs memory and warmth for all who eat it. Part Two is to learn to be okay with the attention it might attract. It won't feel comfortable at first, and you might have ideas of retreating back into that nice cozy shell of yours, but the assignment is clear, and you've signed on for it, so explore and select the medium, then bring forth what you can make with it.

The Capricorn energy of your South Node in the Eleventh House brings us to your biggest challenge. It reminds us that you have a history of being a big player in groups that probably formed to get important work done, work that perhaps tried to make the world a better place. Although you were one of many, and belonging was a big motivator, the ambitious, driven, and managerially competent qualities of Capricorn energy undoubtedly led you to rise to a position of significant authority, responsibility, and visibility. Attending to everything that needed to be accomplished left little room or time for joy or spontaneity or fun or personal connection. Cancer's urge to care for others resonates strongly with that Capricorn sense of responsibility, and if you don't pay attention, you could easily be drawn back into over-involvement with others and lose your momentum North.

Stir the pot. Stir the heart. It's for your highest soul growth, this time around. http://www.astrologykarmaandyou.com/Cancer.html#h5

This interpretation is interesting especially since you married a Leo with cancer rising... 5th house/cancer nodes... The energies coincide.

For your wife

quote:

HOUSE 10: Authority

Welcome to a lifetime of pursuing your ambitions and actualizing them in a front-page kind of way; to taking a position of authority and responsibility, going after what you want, and creating things where nothing ever existed before. And welcome to pulling it all off in the big world where the rest of us can see you and benefit from your example.

The challenge with this placement is two-fold. First, there’s the matter of how strong you’re going to find out you are. The energy of Aries is all about individuality. Its vitality, optimism, and courage are most comfortably directed toward initiatives that reflect what you want to accomplish, in the style and according to the timeline that you think is best. The energy of the Tenth House, with its themes of achievement, ambition, and the assumption of authority and control, strongly supports those Arian qualities. So, the first challenge is about not going overboard to the point where assertion becomes aggression; where knowing what you want becomes willful imposition of those same goals on others; where self-referential attitudes and behaviors allow you to keep the blinders on when it comes to what others might feel and think and want.

Your South Node in Libra legacy can help you. It suggests that in the karmic past you learned a lot about relationship, about the give-and-take, and the diplomacy, and balance that create and sustain connection. That South Node is in the Fourth House, the piece of astrological real estate that represents home and family, and sources of security that can support you as you go forth to claim your place in the sun. Part of this lifetime’s challenge is to take your place in the big world without cutting the strands that connect you to that family matrix. But Libra energy in that Fourth House makes it hard to be the person who disrupts family harmony in any way, which means that the first “Yes” responses to opportunities to move out into the public eye might be hard to make. Let’s say you’re invited to give an important presentation at the out-of-state executive retreat on precisely the weekend of your favorite cousin Maria’s wedding shower. What will you do? You don’t need me to delineate all the possibilities and challenges of that career vs. family dilemma.

You could always take Maria out to lunch a week later and give her your gift. Think about it.

Your nodes are square, but notice the yin/yang sort of resonance with yourself.
