The year of my Saturn Return marked me moving out from home, because I started a teacher in training years in another city, which means I was living on my own for the very first time in my life, with a shock full of responsibilities of course.
But on the first day of the teacher in training day I met a girl (because she had no clue where to go too) and we were chatting when a guy approached us, who also had no clue where to go to.
This was actually half a year before my Saturn Return actually started (it hit the very weekend, when I actually moved into that town far from home and having to live alone), and well, I had always been used to be and viewed myself more as a "sidekick" to whoever other girl or friend I was with, so the guy confused me considerably because, while friendly to both of us, he focused most of his attention on me, he also approached me and not the other girl I was wwith, which was just confusing.
I also met another girl there, and we spent a lot of time with each other for the next 2 years.
The other girl in the end turning out to be a real let down and disappointment and reminding me that I should ALWAYS listen to my inner voice when meeting someone (which warned me loudly about her when I first saw her), as for the guy, well I have never seen him again after those 2 years, but we`ve been getting along great during the time, it was a little bit hovering between friendship and romance during that time, though the friendship-factor won out, mostly because i was probably to dumb to "get it".
I suppose if a guy gives you a ring and roses as birthday present, it might not be just "any" average birthday gift. But as I said I guess I was living too much in my own world at that time to really receive the signals. (though thinking back of it, maybe the fact that he was inviting me for lunch and dinner so often, and we were going out several times, though usually within a small group of people, except for our lunch and dinner-dates, which I never even perceived as "dates". I really though he was just being hungry and wanted to eat something, and it was just coincidence he asked me to join him. Well whatever that was, it is pretty clear he liked me, and I did not really get it. But I did feel like he treated me differently, and within all the loneliness and heavy baggage I also experienced. my pr ASC had just moved into capricorn, too. There was so much responsibility on my shoulders all at once! as it felt like at least).

Well my SAturn-Return, actually had an exact Sun-Saturn-conjunction in the Return-chart in 8th house - and my natal Saturn is in 8th house as well, so it was REALLY a major return with highlighting natal issues
(interestingly it seems like I am in a similiar time period, though differently told astrologically, at the current time)

It also had Moon, ruler of intercepted 8th ouse (probably a reason I did not "see" it) in Aries in 5th house, conjunct my natal Chiron and square my natal Vertex-axis, highlighting the posibility of addressing and possibly healing some issues dealing with romance (5th house) mostly brought about through an unexpected encounter (Vertex)

Well that Moon was also squaring Solar Return Chiron, which was loosely square natal Chiron, and falling into Solar Return 2nd house - so definitely issues aout selfworth and value (and probably a huge inferiority complex, having to be addressed)

Venus in the 7th house (conjunct my natal SN in 7th house) was sextile a Mercury-Mars-conjunction in Leo in 8th house on cusp 9th(interestingly enough a first meeting chart of the man that was most influential on my life for the last year, also showed the same Mars-position about 4 years later)

Venus was also trine Neptune in 3rd and widely square Uranus in 3rd, with Uranus being square my natal ASC.

I guess that was the almost-romance-factor coming in.

So to sum it up, yes, people coming into your life around your Saturn-Return might be part of it. Though of course the SAturn-return is really valid for the next 28 years, so there might be actually several people coming into your life in following years who might have a connection to it.

I suppose if you find there will be close conjunctions (or oppositions or squares) of those people`s natal to your REturn chart, then they might act as a catalyst to whatever the triggered REturn chart positions indicate for you.

For me that means of course my Saturn Return is still ongoing (and probably reacting to transits and progressions), even though the first year might be extremely intensely surrounding about the Return.

Anyway in terms of the guy I mentioned

His natal Venus-Jupiter-conjunction in Aquarius was conjunct the Return Neptune and opposing the Return Mercury-Mars and trine Return Venus.

(The conjunction to Neptune of course would be part of his ongoing important transits at that time, as it simply meant for him having Tr Neptune conjunct his Venus - which seems to be a picture poor man seem to have to endure when they meet me. It is actually creepy now that i think about it how strong the astrological reflection is of the Mr Sag-timeline that would start later on. lol)

I think though that was pretty much the important cross connection, and it is an apt picture to describe the positive affectionate approach he had towards me (his Venus-Jupiter-conjunction) which came with a bit of a romantic flavour (aspecting my Return Venus and Return Mars), but mostly being expressed through a friendship and mental exchange (my Return Mercury) with apparently a lot of things left unsaid and maybe not understood right by me (aspecting to Return Neptune).
