say venus is conjunct the south node and the soul is possessive and selfish. then this person would be a hard and demanding lover, but more ,this type of soul would draw the opposite of love,hate to them. keeping in mind the nodal axis is both life and death, then a malicious emotional response can be devastating.
venus with the north node gives the passion and intimate love also but there are less expectation and less ego involved initially. this aspect rarely turns to hate because of the lack of innate possessiveness. though this aspect can be attacked by jealousy. that not to say that possiveness doesn't develop from a venus/north node, but it will be the lessons of the new love that condition it.
the south node tends to bring ego connections with it.
the confusion is that love and hate are on the same flow.

I can agree that it was a very new feeling for us both. We were both very much attracted to each other but not sure how to go about it. It didn't get past friendship and a slow dating phase because NN took a job in another city. Not to mention, some people were intent on keeping us "just friends".

But TBH, he had so many conjunctions (mars, sun, venus), squares (neptune) and whatnot (opposition: moon) to my NN that I wouldn't count it separately.
