Alright,I’ve been thinking about an interesting topic recently. What happens when you have a sign with two rulers on a relationship house cusp, especially the Dsc… In my chart I’ve got Aries on the 5th, Gemini on the 7th, and Cancer on the 8th. These signs all have only ONE ruler and so everything is very straightforward when it comes analyzing what I look for in relationships. However, some people have the signs Scorpio, Aquarius, or Pisces on the relationship house cusps. The means two rulers. One introverted ruler and one extroverted ruler... Scorpio is ruled by Mars (extroverted ruler) and Pluto (introverted ruler). Aquarius is ruled by Uranus (extroverted ruler) and Saturn (introverted ruler). Pisces is rules by Jupiter (extroverted ruler) and Neptune (introverted ruler). So I’d love some feed back from those who have any of these signs on the 5th, 7th or 8th houses (especially the Dsc). Do you feel the influence of both planets? Are you attracted to the sign or sign qualities of both rulers? Do you feel the houses of both planets have an impact? Sometimes I wonder if women would have stronger response to the extroverted ruler because this is a masculine planet, while men might have a stronger reaction to the introverted planet because this is the more feminine influence. Or maybe which is stronger totally depends on how each person’s natal chart is set up, like which one is more active in the birth chart for example. In my case, I’ve got Aqua on the 3rd house cusp. I feel my Uranus in Scorpio is most dominant in terms of my interests (psychological astrology, relationship dynamics, mysterious topics). However my Saturn in Virgo has an influence two. I’m quite interested in alternative health and love to study different therapies and herbal remedies etc. My 3rd house is my secondary Dsc because Gemini is on the Dsc (Gemini rules 3rd house symbolically). I feel I’m more attracted to Scorpio planets then Virgo planets in others. Maybe that’s cause I’m a women and I’m responding more to Uranus? However, I’ve noticed a slight attraction to Virgo energy to sometimes too (not as much as Scorpio), and a weird sort of admiration for women who have strong Virgo (Saturn in Virgo being the more introverted planet). It could also be that the modern ruler is just more dominant, and the ancient ruler has a lesser role. So people, have you noticed something similar? Lets figure this out. IP: Logged |

I have Aquarius on my DSC and 8th. Two relationships stick out in this case. Currently, I have a Cap sun conjunct Uranus boyfriend. An ex that I dated for many many years is a Aqua sun with Cap ASC. My 10th house is Aries. My boyfriend has Mars in Aries and the ex has Jupiter in Aries. My 11th is Taurus. Boyfriend has Jupiter in Taurus and ex has his sun and Mercury in the 2nd house. He didn't really seem very Taurean/Venusian to me though. I guess I gravitate towards Uranian energy a lot more than Saturnian. I like both energies. I think I need more Saturn in my life though. I think you brought out a good point with the 2 rulers. IP: Logged |

I was wondering what signs you have Saturn and Uranus in. Do you gravitate towards one more then the other? Or are they in the same sign. IP: Logged |

Pisces DSC.If I paired up with someone, it's 99% certain it would be a foreigner. The thing is I have Jupiter, Sagittarius and 9th house stuff in my chart. Also, Neptune alone could go this path. After all the nationality doesn't matter to him, it's just a human invention. Both energies can be appealing if we're talking about the positive manifestation. Neptune is probably more tempting to me though.

5H in Scorpio - Mars in 3H Virgo, Pluto in 4H Libra. 8H in Aquarius - Uranus in 5H Scorpio, Saturn in 3H Virgo. 7H is in Cap.An ex has Sagittarius Asc and Scorpio Sun. While my current romantic interest has Sagittarius Asc and Aquarius Sun. My Mars conjunct his Saturn. My Saturn conjunct his MC. I don't understand why I'm attracted to guys with Sagittarius Asc..? Or maybe it is about something else? IP: Logged |

They're both in Capricorn. I've been encountering lots of Cap Suns for the past few years. Right now, transit Saturn is in my 5th conjunct my vertex. I've never really liked Cap energy but it's been teaching me a lot. I appreciate Saturn so much and wish I learned its lessons at a young age. I'm still young lol but I wish there was structure and responsibility in my kid years. IP: Logged |

Hi Lotis White,I have scorpio in 7th. Ruler mars in 2nd and pluto in 5th. while important partners have had strong pluto, it is not necesarily. I tend to become more the plutonian one and also the martian one. I would not be particularly attracted to mars-oriented or plutonian guys to be honest.. however, i have neptune in 7th and that rings a bell. all my important romantic engagement has the neptunian quality. ALL. i guess is because planets in houses takes more importance than sign of the house. or maybe because i own the plutonian-martian side and dont project them so often. I have sun-mars conjunction and has moon-mercury square pluto. then i may be comfortable with that type of energy. instead, i have nothing in piscis. no neptunian aspects (except for a quinqux to moon-mercury) but i project more neptune i believe

I have Desc. ruler Jupiter/Neptune, 5th in Cap. Neptune is in my 3rd house. My husband is a Gemini and has Sag Moon with Sun/Saturn conjunct in 12th and Pisces Mars and MC. I attract(ed) a lot of men with Venus in 12th and Saggi's. Also a Pisces foreigner but overall less Pisces more Neptunians. Nice this!

Such an interesting topic, Lotis. I have a Pisces DSC as well as Aquarius on the cusp of my 5th, I never felt like "my type" added up whenever I glossed over my natal chart but I've never thought to think about ancient rulers.. Going by Jupiter ruling Pisces then, I can honestly say the amount of Sagittarians I've dated has been statistically off the charts when compared to any other sign. I only have my IC in Sag. Jupiter is also tightly conjunct Chiron + Ceres.. all in Cancer. Cancer men do like me, but the feeling is often not mutual. However, this is the 10th house, and what I am really attracted to... are Capricorns that are emotionally healthy. If we were to analyze the 5th house of Aquarius with the ancient ruler being Saturn, we'd have my natal Saturn in the 4th in its natural sign of.. Capricorn! So the Cancer-Capricorn must play a huge role in my romantic life. Admittedly it does. Funnily enough, the guy I lost my virginity to had a Capricorn Sun and a Cancer Moon. My Saturn makes a 0 degree trine with my Sun, and a 3 degree trine with my ASC. I come across as a really "whole" person to a lot of people. A Capricorn Sun/Moon once thought so. Yet, that's also what I seek in others. Saturn being in this configuration as the "ruler of my 5th" now makes a lot of sense. I don't believe in dating around just for the hell of it - I like to date with a purpose. I like to do date knowing things will stand the test of time, that my future self will thank me for this partner. I'm not one to d*ck around "having fun" with unsuitable people because I find it to be time wasted. If we were to go by modern rulers.. I definitely don't date Uranian men. I don't like instability in the slightest. The Sagittarius men I've dated have all had their stuff together in life and didn't shy away from commitment. So I think that's the Jupiter (7th) and Saturn (5th) roles at play versus as opposed to the Neptune (7th) and Uranus (5th) trope. Funnily enough when I was younger wayward musicians/artists/dreamers/etc were always drawn to me and I was DISMAYED by this lol, I just don't find that energy suitable to my needs in the slightest. Scorpio on the cusp of my 3rd.. overwhelmingly, I am extremely fond of people with an Aries (Martian) Mercury as opposed to a Scorpio Mercury. I do have my own natal Mercury in the 8th, and yet I love how quick talking, no-bullsh*t , straight to the point a martian Mercury communicates, as opposed to everything left unsaid in the subtext by a plutonic Mercury. In fact.. I'd much rather have a conversation with someone that has Mercury conjunct Mars instead of someone with Mercury conjunct Pluto. It's the difference between someone having a strong opinion that can be swayed versus someone that believes everything they state is the objective truth (in my experience) PISCES - RULER OF DSC Jupiter | H10 | Cancer | Extroverted Neptune | H4 | Capricorn | Introverted AQUARIUS - RULER OF 5TH Uranus | H4 | Capricorn | Extroverted Saturn | H4 | Capricorn | Introverted SCORPIO - RULER OF 3RD Mars | H6 | Pisces | Extroverted (loosely conjunct DSC) Pluto | H2 | Scorpio | Introverted IP: Logged |

Thanks for the responses everybody. I was wondering if you could all list the signs and houses of your dual rulers. I'm trying to figure out how the positions of the co-rulers themselves influence romantic taste. I know some have done this, but some have not.Athenaia, interesting how you feel your Capricorn Saturn, co-ruling Aquarius, is so influential in you taste. IP: Logged |

Uranus and Saturn rule my 3rd house. Saturn is in Scorpio and falls in the 11th and I studied psychology and my favorite branch of psychology has always been Social Psychology so very fitting to saturn in scorpio in the 11th house. Uranus conjuncts Jupiter in the 12th again fitting to me pursuing a higher education in psychology and pursuing on my own a higher education on astrology; what drew me to astrology from the start was the psychology of it and how it helps me understand myself and others better, it was never the predictive aspect of it; I got into transits much later on and even today my main interest in astrology is largely tied to psychology; understanding the complexity of human nature and our dynamics with each other.^I dont like mercury in Capricorn but I do love mercury in Scorpio and mercury in Aquarius. At birth I have 23Aqua on 7th, Leo stellium Saturn rising between Pluto 12H and Mars rising, 23Gemini Uranus conj 11th cusp, at Kite head. I'm attracted to Uranus romantic partners. Cosmically conscious, exotic, and alien! My last major romantic partner has Aqua rising, and is delightfully quirky! IP: Logged |

Pisces 7thNeptune 0'20 Sag Jupiter 26'39 Scorpio (IC 25 Scorp) Sag-Sun men (to get to the sign-core) were really never my thing. Short-lived encounters which all: BAD. Too flighty or light hearted for me, waay too! (that was diving into the passing fads of my past). They aren't crossing my path anymore in the love department (for long). Scorpio was my very favorite and first long true love. But I blame my Moon in that sign also. One consistency throughout my romantic love-life; all the longer and more significant involvements had AT LEAST 2 planets in fixed signs (out of sun/moon/venus/mars) but my sun/moon/mars are also fixed. @Lotis White, I know I'm getting a little off topic here, so I won't bother you with many questions, but do you think this same outcome that you mentioned (by having two rulers on the cusp of love houses) can be caused if you have many different planets in a love house, too? Or is this something obvious that I just don't happen to know? Thanks in advance! IP: Logged |

Any planets in the 7th are said to describe your romantic taste, and experience of relationships. If you just have one planet, the influence of that one planet is likely to be dominating. If you have a stellium there, you have varied taste and quite a few different kinds of people could be your 'type' in different ways. If both the rules of Scorpio, Pisces, and Aquarius have influence I suppose this could be somewhat similar to having two planets in the 7th house. But only in the sense that it adds to the variety of people that could fit your 'type'. Planets in the 7th house also show that entire Facets of our personality will be invested in relating, as well as describing our taste. IP: Logged |

I have the sense the planets in houses are more powerful than the sign of the house itself. that is my experience anyway with neptune in scorpio in 7th.my type always are neptunian even if my chart is not neptunian at all. i do not feel attracted to martians or plutonian men.. IP: Logged |

This is a very valid point. Planets are like concentrated versions of the signs the rule. Saturn is like Capricorn concentrate. Jupiter is like Sagittarius concentrate. It gets interesting with planets like Venus and Mercury are in the relationship houses, as these planets rule two signs. I wonder if that means you could go either way (for either sign)…
